I’ll check out the Big Week: The Biggest Air Battle of World War II book as well. It feels like it would make a great movie.

Re: Masters of the Air
Good narrative Coastal. You should be very proud of your Dad. When I said air superiority in Spring 1944 I meant over France not Germany. The German 88mm Flak guns were formidable with a muzzle velocity of 2,690 feet/second. Fortunately, the Germans did not have our proximity fuses which was one of ...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report
The upcoming Charisma folder kind of reminds me of the Victorinox Swiss Classic Picnic knives which are liner lock folders weighing 1.5 ounces (42g). Blade steel is the German 1.4116 56 RC stainless steel (close in composition to 420HC steel), plain or fully serrated edge, blade length of 4.3" ...

Re: Masters of the Air
It wasn’t until mid-December 1943 when P-51D Mustang fighters with the Merlin engine provided the US Army Air Forces with the high-performance, high-altitude, long range fighters which could escort B-17 bomber formations all the way to Berlin and back. Massive losses between June 1943 and December 1...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report
Looking at the prices of U.S. made folders with CTS-BD1N blade steel and FRN scales (Para3 & Native Chief) I’m guessing a street price of around $130-$140 for the Charisma. Ouch! Big money for a such a knife - I’d expect to be paying no more than $80. The Golden made Ukpk in the same steel with...

Re: What is your favorite Delica variant?
$200 in November 2016 dollars. Today, that’d be $275. Well they wanted it to be around $100 because "It's only a Delica". So maybe that was 1960 dollars. Spyderco folders made in Japan with liners and G-10 are too pricey which is why so few are made today. — Stretch2 XL with Satin Cru-Wea...

Well done Mr. Blonde! The three upcoming 15V folders you posted about (Military2/G-10, Manix2/FRCP, MicroJimbo/G-10) will all be Regular Production or Sprint Runs? I asked again at the IWA Show and I got back that the 15V knives were planned as regular production. I'm sure the next Reveal will sett...
