The bar in Star Wars, the zoo or the mall.

I don't get out much. However, today, I had to go to the local mall which is in a really nice area. Well, I stopped in a Starbucks in the food court for a cup of java and watched all manner of life form pass by. Several members of the crooked hat crowd passed by and the women at the table nest to me...

Thank you for the great pics sir. I've never had a ball lock so I am looking forward to trying this new Manix out. The handle and size looks very close to the Mini-Manix.

Glad everyone was safe Tony. I was involved in an accident at 87th and Manheim Road during the seventies. (Palos Hills maybe?) I was a passenger and was laying at the side of the road being treated my a para-medic when some knothead came racing toward the wreckage, hit the brakes and lost control. H...

I have the CU/7. I replaced the scales with canvas Micarta available from Camilus when they were still a going concern.

It's a solid, durable piece.

Yep. You have to try masks. If you can put it on without the strap and inhale through your nose the mask should stay on your face even when looking at the floor. Otherwise it will leak when in the water. For snorkeling smaller masks without too large internal volume are better; a smaller mask that ...

In this day and age, I certainly hope I never have to rely on a knife for self defense. The bad guys are carrying guns. I realize we can't foresee, or control completely, the situations in which we find ourselves but, I really believe one of the best defenses is to stay out of areas where we are lik...

That's trust for you Billy, that your daughter would eat something she thought was called potatoes-gone-rotten. Too funny.

I enjoyed your story Tony. They do learn quick. Here's a conversation I had with my son Danny about 20 years ago, when he was 12 or 13 years old. A little background first. I paid hime $8 per to mow my lawn. Here's the conversation: Dan: Dad, can I buy a guitar? Me: Sure Dan. Let me know when you're...

Good thread tea! I like Danner boots. I have three pair and they are very comfortable from day one. I like Eagle Industries' nylon gear because it's rugged and made in the USA. Marathon watches are also great. Rugged and well made. I have only one though, the TSAR. I'm really too old to say that som...

It was the good Dr. Lechter who gave me the idea of the "ghetto wave" on the 5:11. I kind of have mixed feelings about it because it opens even when I'm taking it out at the end of the day. It really is important to be careful with these things. I have a small custom fixed blade k'bit bein...

I recently purchased a karambit and can attest to the usefullness of the curved blade. Mine has made easy work of those bloddy blister packages, the bane of sanity, snail mail and email too. Having the tip extended on the hawbills is very useful.

Thanks guys. Since starting this thread, I've become a little more proficient in handling this piece. I've added two of the zip tie things to form the ghetto wave and it now opens reliably in the extended, reverse grip position. I've been bitten twice in practice, but I guess that goes with the terr...

I have a RAT3 and a couple of TACs from Ontario. They're nice knives for the money. I would expect the Rat Cutlery models to be even better. I was never very impressed with Ontario's QC.
