Re: Are there two hand opening locking knives by Spyderco?

Why did this turn into such a political/knife laws thread? It would just be nice to have a knife that locks, and doesn't have a Spyderco hole opener. I have to agree. Just an ordinary two hand opening locking knife would be nice. IMO no special treatment is needed. For me it would be absolutely suf...

Re: Are there two hand opening locking knives by Spyderco?

The German BKA defined the Griploc as a locking knife (due to the easily one handed accessible locking lever at the back of the knife). The BKA just stated that it is a one hand opening locking knife without going into detail. The VG Wiesbaden however (who asked the BKA for their opinion in the fir...

Re: Are there two hand opening locking knives by Spyderco?

Hi NicoColt, FC Sniper, Welcome to our forum. I spent a fair amount of time on the German knife forum trying to come up with a THO locking folder. We could not come up with anything that the forumites there were satisfied with. 1. Any locking knife can be "Spydie dropped" if the blade is ...

Re: Are there two hand opening locking knives by Spyderco?

nail nick or not, OHO or not, most countries have restrictive blade lengths in the same ballpark, [...] Germany is 8 cm (3.15 in) max same as Hungary, [...] Denmark has forbidden any locking knives on your person in public spaces, like Finland or France [...] Those two are wrong. 1. Germany only ha...

I own a roadie. The Spydk is nice as well but it is discontinued and stupidly expensive here AFAIK.

Re: Are there two hand opening locking knives by Spyderco?

I honestly didn't know that they also use premium steels and G10 so thank you for this information! I doubt it will suit me though. Bucks are usually on the heavier side and as far as I know they also don't have clips. That's a problem with a lot of two hand opening knives. Most companies think that...

Re: Are there two hand opening locking knives by Spyderco?

Thanks everybody so far. perhaps a Mantra 2 or Positron with the flipper tab ground off? Yeah been considering those as well, but as long as you can grab onto the blade and flick them open you are at risk. That pretty much only leaves back locks or locks with super strong detent which goes against t...

Are there two hand opening locking knives by Spyderco?

Hi, I like knives but I have a problem: I am from Germany. Our laws pretty much prohibit us to carry a one hand opening locking knife. I already have a selection of non-locking Spydercos (Squeak, Urban, UKPK, PITS) but I'd really like to have a two hand opening locking knife, e.g. a Delica or a Poli...
