Re: Self loosening pivots
I was on the other side in that thread. I have absolutely had pivots loosen. What I havent had, that was being talked about, is a knife coming apart in my hands because of this. Even on knives that do have a loose pivot, I can get plenty of openings before that pivot would fall out. Certainly enough...

Re: Native Chief REX45 vs Police 4 K390 LW
I have to have both since Im always going back and forth on how I feel about thumb ramps.
Police 4 should be better on a cutting board if that means anything to you.

Re: Q-Ball
Im pretty sure the D'Allara 3 is the same as the q-ball with the exception of the plunger.
Anyways it got easier to disengage once the spring broke in.
With that said its still not great. Not sure I could one hand unlock it with slippery hands.

Re: Disappointed with first Spyderco
Happy to hear you will give them another shot. Serrated h1 is great stuff. If you dont want a thumb ramp, you pretty much have to go with the native 5 salt. It would be my recommendation if you like the salt 2 but still dont like the thumb ramp. There's also the Siren. And the spydiechef, but those...

Re: Disappointed with first Spyderco
Actually in general the pivot screw has to back out a lot before the knife will come apart, Im almost wondering if yours has the wrong screws. If not, then buy some torx wrenches to maintain your tool, like you would any other tool. What Im really saying is you should notice that pivot screw backin...

Re: Disappointed with first Spyderco
Also a long post. Just some general stuff. 1. Dont buy from Amazon. Even though its not fake I garuntee that knife was disassembled and put back together with no thread locker. This is probably why its coming apart. 2. Many frn seki knives do come with loose screws. Not really sure what Spyderco can...

Here is a photo of one of my "Bugs" in it's natural habitat. ;) Also have an all black Bug model as well. https://i.imgur.com/0DIVTtE.jpg Battery acid? Ha. Lol. No way!!! Is that picture really what I think it is? No way that pic stays up. Well maybe it will, spyderco is a Colorado based ...

Re: Let’s see your little bugs
I wish I had known how great the bugs were when I first started getting spydercos. I would certainly have more.
Still want the manbug wharncliffe ticn, manbug wharncliffe se, and manbug k390.

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Well, I missed the S45 mule, but I would have bought two if I had had my act together (and been lucky enough). Not so much because I thought it was the hottest, latest steel -- but because I really do intend to start making handles like some of the artists have done in this group. There is nothing ...

Re: Para 3 LW poor scale grip vs D4
The para 3 lw has a shallower bidirectional texture than any of the other large size knives with bidirectional texture. The "ridges" on every "scallop" arent as deep. Im not sure why it is that way. Since I always use the choil grip on the para 3 I dont have any problems with it ...

Re: Native 5 Salt is hands down the best knife ever IMO
The native 5 in general is a darn good edc. Also I think spydercos Golden factory makes the best backlocks on the market. If your hands are big you have to live with the choil grip but I have come to like it. Native 5 salt is amazing. One of the few knives that Ive found suitable for boardshort pock...
