I'm with you IV. never quite trusted the liners. seem too vulnerable to slipping off with a sturdy grip. Had a Emerson which was unpredictable. I trust the framelock, lockbacks, ball bearing lock and the compressions. While similar at first, I think the compression lock is a very different animal, a...

Hey chad
that looks like a very natural grip. Just as I thought.
I ordered another SPOT for a back up, since my 2 girls are growing up and eyeing my knife collection!

I can easily see how your grip works. I dont quite understand how Perrins grip is secure.
Daywalker
how are your various projects coming? What grip works for you on the cricket? small blade but nice. Very much like the SPOT.

I don't know why it is, but sometimes it takes me a long time to "come around" to a particular knife design. For instance, the SPOT did not strike me as anything special when it first came out, but 1 month ago I was needing(ok, wanting) a very small fixed blade, and it struck me immediatel...

I think there is no need to highlight other companies products, whether it be good or bad. The better knife should stand on its own merits. Knives can be built to surpass all others in one test criteria and be weak in another, invariably there are always compromises in construction. In the end, its ...

old and new Native differences

I noticed the Native at my dealer in a dark blue box is a slightly darker color blade and a bit more belly than the older white box model I have. My wife had more important things to do with it,so I'm looking for a ne one. Is the color of the blade indicative of different heat treat? Will it sharpen...

I just bought a 204 sharpmaker and it cured my problem of getting a sharp edge on my 440v Native plain edge. I was having fits using ceramic sticks, diamond hone and a stone. tHE 204 is all you need. $45 at my brick and mortar shop.
