Affermation of love for Spyderco

For the past 6 months or so, I have been obsessed with a knife, a Lucas Burnley Kwaiken. If you are unfamiliar with the knife, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4etOsrxKkz0 . At the moment I can neither find or afford this knife since I am getting married in less then 2 months. I was ecstatic when Boke...

Those scales turned out really good. The pattern in the nomex is awesome. Is the there any texture to the scales? I would recommend the Persistence for your next job, its the best of the family, imho. The Cat would also be a good choice. Both are relitivley cheap.

I'm not sure which exact model you are referring to, but, most 1095 kabar blades have a black coating. However, the coating is easily removable if you wish to do so. I have a couple of beckers that are made by Kabar and stripped the coating off. If you are referring to the 7" fighting knife, i ...

I have a pinned native and the Cento 3. Both are 3 plus years old and are still tight. Its a great lightweight edc and a wicked slicer. I'd say go for it.

While I haven't driven that exact model, it looks like a nice quad for the money. I would also recommend you find a nice used one. Whatever you choose I would definitely recommend a Yamaha quad, I got my first quad when I was 6, an 88 Moto 4 80cc, and since have had nearly every model in between. I ...

Manix 2 broken cage

While sitting here perusing Spyderco forums I was playing with my Manix 2. Using the lock to flip it open, the lock basically explodes and parts fly everywhere. Well the polymer cage around the ball broke in 2 spots sending the spring and ball bearing flying across the room. Has this happened to any...

If your going for a hard use outdoor folder you can't beat the superleaf. I have never been real happy with my Manix 2. While I do like the Caged Ball Bearing lock I think the short comings of the knife overshadow the great lock. The jimped liners are way too excessive and create hot spots all over ...

Meerkat Sprint?

Has anyone heard anything about the release date of this sprint? Most websites say May, but I haven't heard a peep about it. It seems like I have had this on preorder for ages. Any info is appreciated.

The Stretch is one of mt favorite knives and I love that it is such a lightweight slicing machine with great ergos. The only way it could be improved is by slapping on some G10 with an improved steel. Navy G10 and Super Blue maybe?

Check out the Ruger SR556. Had one for about a year and really liked it. I think they are going for about $1500 nowadays. I have also heard good things about Rock River PDS which goes for about $1600.
