Re: Who's Buying Murray Carter Spyderco???

As much as I take my pocket knives seriously, I half way just don't care about kitchen knives. Isn't that weird? I have a Spyderco Santoku and it's plenty for our kitchen prep. Not really? I'm the same. We have my wife's wusthof Santoku, and that's the only higher priced kitchen knife we own. It's ...

Re: Military 2

If this was BladeForums or some other place, I’d not bother to comment. But this forum is Spyderco’s own. Your accusations—of they this and they that—cannot but step all over our hosts. Is it your intention to do so? That is one of the reasons I put that user on ignore. I for one can't wait for the...

Re: Replacement Blades: Would you be for it if it could be done?

I love my Benchmades, but I love my spydercos more! As long as I'm not doing non-knife things with my knives I'll probably never snap a blade. Funny how that works... And in the event I do snap a Spyderco, it's possible it was a defect and I'll get it replaced under warranty. And if not? Such is lif...

Re: Isle of Man TT back for ‘22!

Since 1907 now over 250 racers have died on the unforgiving course. It’s hard for me to image how difficult it must be to learn the course on top of the distractions at such high speeds . MG2 Those guys are a different breed. Going that fast around those turns, with walls inches from you... Just in...

Re: Benchmade Crooked River folder?...

I have 2 crooked rivers and 2 minis, standard and customs of each. They're all excellent. Some of my favorites honestly. I prefer the large, but do carry the smalls quite a bit because the smaller knives are easier to handle with some of the work i do. They're like modern takes on the buck 110 and 1...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

Have friends who have seen it and said it's great. Don't think I'll go to the theater, but will watch it at some point. The best part is the motorcycle though... That old ninja! Talking about the first movie, not sure if he has the old 900 in the new one. Maybe a new H2, or at least a zx10.

Re: What do you think of the US Army going to the Sig XM5 6.8x51?

There are some vids where they use the full power at military or Sig ranges. I think he has one or is in one that I saw. The recoil is not as bad as I feared because of the recoil mitigation systems and the weight. It is not a 5.56, but it is far from a 7.62, it seems. I will be interested to see h...

Re: Are you going to Blade Show?

All I can say is, get me that military 2! The only thing keeping me from getting a millie in the first place is the clip position. I'm fine with liner locks. But that millie 2 is looking mighty fine!

Re: What do you think of the US Army going to the Sig XM5 6.8x51?

https://youtu.be/MTZRCEh1Czg Here is a no nonsense review that debunks some of the hype. It has a take down demo and discussion. He says the rifle is mild shooting and I saw a video of him using it and it was controllable. A very good video, I love Ian. He does make sure to mention that all the amm...

Re: What do you think of the US Army going to the Sig XM5 6.8x51?

The M16 is nearly 70 years old, now. It was designed in the 1950's. I don't know if the new Sig is a better rifle in every way. I hope they solve the mud problem. However, in some ways it is a better design. It runs cleaner, for one thing. Something had to be done. We couldn't keep fielding a firea...

https://i.imgur.com/F3HO0nB.jpeg The Beretta shoots VERY nicely. Put nearly 200 rounds through it, no hiccups, soft shooting, easy follow ups. Still like the Arex trigger better, more positive reset, but the beretta is just smooth. It's a wonderful gun! A steal for $400! Soc, is it possible to swit...

Re: What do you think of the US Army going to the Sig XM5 6.8x51?

The early failures of the M16 are well documented and have nothing to do with the platform or the round. They are the failure of the US Army to provide the proper powder for the ammunition, failure to provide cleaning kits, and failure to provide proper training. Remember, the 30-06, the 7.62 NATO,...

Re: "As close to perfection as possible" folder from Spyderco?

Shaman, hands down. Robust enough for hard use, ground well enough to slice, balanced, and easy on the pocket. Almost perfect size as well. I may not always put it in my pocket, but it's there more often than not.

If I have trouble choosing a knife for the day, I just grab a Shaman and I'm good!
