Re: Good Leather Gloves

I've always gone with uninsulated, cowhide leather work gloves that I wear wool inserts with as cushioning. I use my gloves for lawn work, shoveling and raking, hammering nails into the fence, and keeping my hands warm in the winter when outdoors. Personally, I find that cowhide seems more resistant...

Re: Textbook HISTORY: How Accurate Is It?

Actually, as my father always said, when you go to school from kindergarten through high school, you are learning the basics of reading, writing, arithmetic... you are learning to learn... you are learning to listen... you are learning to understand... you are learning to think... and all of this is...

Re: Thorough - Multi-Tool Face Off

I still haven’t found a tool I like better than the first generation Wave. Mine is from the first year they were out and says patent pending on it. I plan on taking it to the grave with me. I, too, thought the original Leatherman Wave was the best of that particular design... that said, I've yet to...

In Memory Of General Colin L. Powell

In Memory Of General Colin L. Powell. We lost a great warrior today. I will always remember General Powell, the soldier. General Powell in reference to Desert Storm... "We don't want a fair fight." General Powell in reference to the Iraqi army... "First we're going to cut it off, then...

EDC Your Pink Spyderco For National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it's time to bring out your pink :bug-red-white 's. I'm EDCing my Spyderco Pink Native, Model C41PPN, in recognition and support of this cause as well as in remembrance of women I know who've faced the challenges of breast cancer, especially thos...

Re: R.I.P. Norm Macdonald...

Sorry to hear of his loss. Mr. Macdonald was certainly one of the better cast members in SNL history. His portrayal of Tommy Lee in that skit with Pamela Anderson was really cool, especially when Tommy Lee himself showed up in the skit.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Re: Buck 110 question

Sorry to hear of the loss of your father. Personally, I'd recommend keeping those Buck folders as they are. As already noted, keep them as they are as a reminder of your father. Also, depending on how old these knives are, the blade steel may be different compared to what Buck currently uses. I know...

Spyderco World Trade Center Knife... Commemoration Of 20 Years Since 9/11

Today is September 11, 2021... Today marks twenty years since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, as well as the loss of those brave Americans onboard United Airlines Flight 93... It is time to once again bring out my Spyderco World Trade Center Knife and clip it to my ...

Re: Models you'd like to see return.

I've always been a fan of the original Spyderco C95 Manix and would welcome its return. The C95 Manix is a nice, big, BEEFY knife with the reliability of a lockback mechanism. When I first came upon the Spyderco website, the C95 Manix PE was amongst the first :bug-red-white s that I ordered. There i...

Re: In search of the perfect EDC flashlight

I recently purchased a SureFire E1B Backup duel output flashlight with MaxVision to carry on my toolbelt. It's a nice compact size (3.87" long, 1.13" bezel diameter), uses one CR123A, 3v lithium battery, has a 2-way pocket clip, has the activation switch on the tail cap, and has nice knurl...

Re: Liner lock. Should I try one?

I like both liner locks and frame locks, although I do tend to lean towards the lock back system since that's what I started with and still use. When it comes to folding knives with liner locks or frame locks, Spyderco (liner locks and frame locks) and Chris Reeve (frame locks) are the ones I like t...

Re: 2021 Multi-tool Review

I haven't really looked into any new generation multi-tools since the ones I have are still more that enough for my needs. I did find the Leatherman Super Tool 300M to be rather intriguing since it was designed with the military member in mind. When it comes to multi-tools, my personal favorite bran...
