Re: Wise Men Co. Delica Aluminum Scales

Look like great F&F...can't say I see how it's an upgrade for using over FRN, though...but thanks for sharing!

It was a bad day when my Rescue got lost in the overgrown fescue... But not as bad as the day when my Pacific Salt got dropped off the side of the trawler a thousand fathoms deep in the Atlantic Silt...  Then there was the time I had to pay the clerk for my Bi-Fold, but I was shocke...

Cruwear and Elmax...Cruwear is the best of both worlds, IMHO.

Re: Bad Customer Service

I like the idea of a single serration instead of a choil. That way if material finds it's way in, it is cut. That's actually a great idea. But even if that last bit is unsharpened, at least the media can be "sawn" back into sharpened edge rather than snagging on a sharpening notch like Pa...

Re: Folders to Fixed Blades. What Spydies Would You Convert?

Well since the Bowie, Kris, Chokwe, Barong, and Kukhri started out as fixed blades, it'd probably make for the most seamless conversion<?> back to fixed blade status. The Lum could be interesting. The Roc would be a kitchen cleaver. Now that I think about it...isn't the entire Ethnic Series handed d...

Re: Knife Addiction is Real...

https://youtu.be/1WHgyWSuNu4 It's worse for me... I have to walk down and back up a steep dirt road to my mailbox XD So what I'm hearing is: Knife addition is actually a beneficial way to exercise. It can increase your cardio-pulmonary function. And the benefits increase incrementally with the size...

Re: Anyone that have experience as jail deputy

A couple important things to remember when dealing with convicts/inmates are: 1. Be Fair, Firm & Consistent 2. Praise in public, criticize in private. (when possible, and most times it is possible) But, the Cardinal rule when dealing with inmates is to at all times, be Professional. Always bett...

Re: Skeletonizing To Death

...I think it might be what accounts for the frcp feeling cheap... you're likely onto something there...same goes for the skeletonized FRN like on the lightweight Native 5's-- When I first opened mine and heard that hollow, pingy cheap sound , I checked, double checked, and even started a thread as...

I can hold a plank for an hour or two and that's a 2 x 12...if yer talkin 2 x 4's I can probably hold it all day...But one question: does it break the challenge rules if I sit down while I'm holding the board?

Yup...I've done the same thing with a metal ruler with a totally square edge. Good demonstration of Newton's 3rd Law.

I've stopped worrying about chips. If it chips it chips. Just sharpen and use. same here-- unless it's the tip, I'm a little OCD about the tips... I've even got to the point with edge chips that I continue to use it until it's dull and ONLY THEN do I try to grind out the little chips...I don't even...

Re: Name Five Steels All Spydie Fans Should Try

1. Cruwear & XHP...I put these together because they sharpen almost identically for me, and stay sharp almost identically for me also. 2. VG-10...a must for any Spyderco afi...it's an easy to sharpen stainless. 3. ZDP-189...Spyderco pioneered this steel and it's a **** good steel EVEN TO THIS DA...

I'd love a linerless FRN model in H1 with a very aggressive SpyderEdge and a bit more robust tip...it's a bit of a selfish request because I've been wanting this for jogging & hiking...I'm currently packing a sprint Matriarch 2 linerless and a Matriarch 2 with the full nested liners...they're fi...

Re: I'm officially over G10

I'm with ya twins...But maybe for a bit different reason... I'm a texture snob and I can't stand the texture of Spyderco G10...it's like fingernails on the chalkboard for me. The coarser grit on other makers' handles don't bother me but the Spyderco texture gives me the hebbiejeebies... That's...
