Re: Spyderco Folders converted into Fixed Blades question.
The Dragonfly, exactly the same dimensions but fixed. That's basically an ARK with a different blade shape. And handle shape. ;) I totally see your point. I have handled the ARK thinking along the same lines, but the dragonfly shape, as a whole, feels more comfortable for day to day use, to me.

+1 This is the knife that sold me on frn scales. Really like the texture on these. They are the 'Goldilocks' of frn, not too slippery
not too grippy, just right. :)

Hi sal,
A Crow would be a nice size... To start with :)
But seriously, whichever model would be the most straightforward to manufacture from your perspective.
For myself the 'small' edc sizes Meadowlark/Hawkbill, Crow, Robin work best, even the Tern would be cool.

Re: Nick's question of "why"?
Why? Consumerism, trying to build a better mousetrap, everybody else is doing it...etc.etc. Many of the newer companies out there appear to me to be styling houses for knife shaped objects, using buzzwords in their advertising like Titanium, D2, Framelock and bearings. Which many of the buyers will ...

Re: New fixed blade - need help
Like the shape and 3d scales. But would prefer the plunge line to be similar to the serrata. Regarding the lanyard hole, could there be a hole in the tang but not in the scales? To allow the customer to drill/machine the scales if they choose to go the lanyard route.

A 'full size' Roadie would be nice, as would a UKPK/Urban in sculpted G10, similar to but slimmer than the Positron, with a choice of either spear point or sheepsfoot blade.

Re: What is your favorite/most used lock type?
For me it would have to be the backlock followed closely by the compression lock. The backlock is, as many have already said, the equivalent of an old friend, reliable and trustworthy. Especially in the Spyderco iteration. I recently received a Sliverax, my first compression lock knife, and in my un...

Re: Are there two hand opening locking knives by Spyderco?
Pondering this over the weekend. Using the CBBL manix as a base. Could the 'ramp' on the tang have an increasing radius, similar to a snail cam, applied that would, in concert with a stronger spring on the BB, increase the pressure required to open the knife? So you would have to pull the BB back to...

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”
Hi Sal, thanks for the clarification. Not to pry,, but as these knives were designed as tools with the Scout market in mind was any marketing done to reinforce this ? Because with these two models I do see a point of separation from the value folders, but I'm not so sure that parents looking for a '...

Another option to consider ? Rebrand them as CQI'ed Tenacious and Persistence, improved ergonomics and upgrade in steel. Because this is effectively the case.
The buyer may then see them as being of better value?
