Re: Is there a BYRD in your pocket??
Thought I'd share my Robin. I only had the Hawkbill and Wings Slipit until now. A friend gifted me the Robin so I had to make it special ! It used to be a G10 Robin. Made some carbon fiber scales with a yellow-thingy overlay and changed most of the screws because they were not in a great shape. It a...

Re: Recommendations for a European traditionalist
High schools should offer a Spyderco Test Day a bit before graduation ! So that any european can hold most of Spyderco's line-up and decide which knife to go with entering adulthood ! Oh dear lord no buddy ! If you see how clumsy the kids/teens have become in these new generations thanks to only ho...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report
By the way the finish on the Charisma was similar to the one on the S30V, BD1N, S45VN Para 3. Or Maxamet versions like the N5 LW, Manix, Para 3 and PM2. Kind of light stonewash with semi-high polish

It would be the SpydieChef if the lock interface was more to my liking.
So, even if I prefer the handle thickness of the Swayback, I'm voting OG Bowie just for the blade !

Re: Forum Update/Maintenance & Move - PLEASE READ
I must be addicted because I checked a dozen time since the maintenance. I had a notification in the Photo of the week thread and immediately noticed the quote scroll. It's really nice ! Especially in that thread where we always post pictures and quote them to answer each other

Thanks guys ! I should stay on these since I only have one Stretch XL with this specific construction but I have to admit that I'm dying to try another material on this knife ! Might be a disease 😅 Oh, by the way, here are the scales I made for mine :) https://i.imgur.com/DBuLeLK.jpeg https://i.imgu...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
I feel ashamed with my poor pictures that havz neither good lighting, goos composition or good quality ! That's why I try to only picture Spydercos that cant be seen with that aesthetic anywhere else 😁 I had to own a Robin, it was an obligation. Took me forever to buy one so a fellow french collecto...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?
Hey Robin, Totally honest: OF COURSE I would carry and use even the most special anniversary Spydie, just as I would the 25th and 40th! Most likely even more than any other variant of the same model and definitely for any, also harder tasks! Being so special in several ways (by its looks and its ba...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?
Well Gernot, would you actually use the previous anniversary knives for anything more than light cutting tasks ? The 25th Delica or 40th Native are really special pieces, if I were to actually use the models, it'd be something like the K390 Delica or any Native 5 that isn't this one :grin-smiling-ey...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report
The Charisma is clearly a strictly cutting tool (which is supposed to be the case for most knives anyway). It will pack the cutting geometry of a scalpel in a really thin and non-aggressive package. Ideal for cutting stuff like paper on a cutting board, schmatics and all.
