I'm not too sure if I fully understand whats going on. So Arizona basically passed a law for a right to have a knife in general or did the legalize other restrictions? I'm assuming by preemption you mean by the act or right. I can see a lot of work was put into this. Congratulations guys. I'm still...

Barong updates?

Any word on when the Barong is expected to roll out? I managed to destroy my last full size Spydie, and am left only with my GP Kopa. I'm not going to hold any vain hopes of finding one of the Lums, but the Barong looks like it would do very nicely. BTW, anything in H-1 with a G10 handle in the know...

I hope we get a MultiCam Miltary as well down the road, if the pixel-cam one does well. Need one to go with the rest of the MC kit. :D

I think the trailing point was discontinued before the switch to S30V. They were still available at the time the change happened, but they had stopped being manufactured some time before.

Yeah, I've heard that before (that some prefer the D3 handle to the D4's). But as my D4 has been out of my hands for about 4 weeks now, I have forgotten how it feels! I'm curious to hold the two side by side when I get my D4 back to compare the handles. By the way, regarding the barrel-bolts on the...

thanks but why are yoiu stopping? Thanks Vincent. Spyderco has decided to take all of the moderating in-house given their increasing investment in their internet presence and public relations. I am a 'friend of Sal,' as Joyce said once, not a Spyderco employee. All internet representation will now ...

This is the reason why titanium tends to be expensive. Not because it is rare or expensive as a raw element, but because of how difficult (costly) it is to manufacture with it.

Stepping down as assisting Moderator this month.

Well my friends, I will officially be stepping down as an assisting Moderator on both of the official Spyderco discussion fora during this month, and Kristi is now the primary Moderator. Sal and Joyce will continue to contribute to all of the official Spyderco fora as they always have, and Sal of co...

According to Sal the additional liner is there to aid assembly. It isn't a "test," as future runs of the G10 Military will have the second liner.

I'd hardly call that a "mini" liner, going all the way to the last handle screw. That is prety much "full size" for a skeletonized nested liner. Well, the Military is now dual-linered. Someone make an announcement at the BF General forum. There will be a stampede.

Can you get a pic of the mini-liner nested next to the pivot on the non-lock side?

The peel-ply is textured.

To my understanding the Caly III "matte" CF will be smooth, but it won't be gel-coated with a shiny, polished surface.

Standard steel of the Military is S30V for now, with no plans otherwise.

In the future please just mention that there is a CF Military on Ebay without using a link? Thanks.

1. Getting the CF Civilian drilled and tapped for tip-up carry in addition to the usual tip-down. 2. The Spyderfly (and thus subsequent Spyderco balisongs) Time for some backstory. :D I've gotten too much credit/blame for the Spyderfly I think, but there is a funny backstory to it: Several years ago...

The production Para never had PARA-MILITARY on the blade, only the prototypes did. The Para debuted the bug engraving on its blade instead.

Sal, I think the only sensible thing to do is move Spyderco down here to Arizona. It is sunny all year round, and all knives are legal. :D

I think that this is often true of aficionados. I'd always prefer CF myself. But considering the ZDP Delicas and Calys, it is useful and has wide appeal with a certain market to use FRN as a testbed for exotic steel. It doesn't preclude the premium exotic steel and exotic handle. For example even wi...

This might be a bit of a left field suggestion, but IMO maybe there should be something in the Delica/Caly Jr class in FRN made in Golden. It could be an easier test-bed / sprint run platform for high-end American steels like the CPM smorgasbord and BG-42.
