Re: Community Sharpening Journal
What is the trick to not blunting your tips on a stone when free hand sharpening. I know you're supposed to lift your elbow to follow the curve, but I think I'm going too far, as I see the scratch pattern at the tip only goes up half way. I can't really get a feel for it. My PM2 and my Native have ...

Big and heavy will be the number 1 complaint. Pocket hog and the jumping being excessive too. More of a use for extended periods of time kind of knife

Re: My Precious!
Totally understand. Kinda why I wish certain steels were available without sprint/exclusive chasing. Availability is definitely much better now than years past. They're supposed to be tools (though I am guilty of buying a used snap on ratchet because I didn't want to be the one to put the first scra...

It's most commonly used in Japanese kitchen knives. Takes a screaming sharp edge easily, rusts easily, but takes a nice patina.

Re: What you don't like about spyderco knives?
Nicer fit and finish for their Chinese models (Byrd line included) - I mean check out a civivi next to a Byrd and one feels substantially better Spyderco started out as a sharpening company - would like to see some resin/metallic bonded stones. Would also like to see some more options for the sharp ...

Re: If you could have any knife in magnacut, why would you opt for another steel?
It's funny to me how things get popular and people start calling it hype before they themselves have even tried it, and after some extremely reputable people have already chimed in with their assessment of it, as if it doesn't work for them that just means it was just hype and all those people were...
