Re: Black Friday Deals
This thread has been better than christmas morning! Some truly amazing deals out there, and really fun reading through all of the excitement here. I scored a Police 4 LW from Knivesshipfree for ~$90, and the new Lil Temp 3 LW from Indiana Knives* for ~$140. I'm definitely happy with those deals! I'v...

My order from SOG is allegedly out for delivery today. 1 out of 3 orders fulfilled is definitely not a good look for the company..

Re: Yellowstone and 1883.
I tried to watch Yellowstone, but the language was so foul I turned it off. It seemed every other word was profanity and so much of it that even soldiers don't talk that way. Oh, I bet you love Beth then, Dan haha! :cussing :zany Yeahhh, there's a solid amount of cussing.. fantastic show though. I'...

Re: Crazy Deals that are Non Spyderco
The SOG home page has a 40% off sale if you use code MWR40. If you have been curious about SOGs current Taiwan made knives, now is your chance. I’m trying out a Pentagon XR folder for $54. G10 & XHP. Hopefully anyone that ordered from this sale got shipping notices. If you didn't it's probably ...

There is a pretty awesome Ka-Bar sale going on right now: 50% off of most in-stock items at kabar.com. It's 50% off of MSRP, but still works out to some solid savings over normal retail pricing. Ends today (Nov 16) at 11:59 pm EST.

Re: c36 military symbol question
Nice find!
That mark on the ricasso doesn't look like any Spyderco or knife-related marking that I'm familiar with. I second Dan's opinion.. my guess is that it was added by an owner at some point. Stylized "AJ?" Maybe "JF?" Hahah an infinity symbol?? I'm not sure..

Re: Dark Blue G10 Turning Black
I don't have an S110V Military, but the dark blue g10 on my PM2 is definitely one of the more "chameleon" scale options.. mine can look anywhere from a vibrant purple-y blue to straight purple, to a deep dark blue, almost black, depending on lighting and directionality of lighting. There i...

Re: BladeHQ Exclusive Lum Tanto
That Lum posted on BF was rough. At the knife's price point, any of the "well, how does she cut?!" counter arguments/excuses for less than perfect execution on construction fall dead flat. That said, this is literally a sample size of one . I think accusations of widespread & rampant &...

Re: BladeHQ Exclusive Lum Tanto
Hahah this reminds me of that silly "what color is the dress?!" controversy on the internet a few years back.. I agree though, it's sometimes hard to get a feel for a knife's true colors from online pictures.. especially where BHQ is concerned. I find it to be something of a universal trut...

Re: 2023 Official Discontinued List
With exception of the Siren, nothing especially shocking here.. I'm thinking the Siren will be getting a Magnacut release. Putting all of the effort into the lockbar CQI and releasing the S90V sprint only to then turn around and immediately.. discontinue the model??? It just doesn't make sense.. I m...

Re: Spyderco Advocate C214TIP SPRINT RUN
The Advocate is a really cool knife. I actually just got a NOS/pre-CQI model for a fair price about two weeks back. In spite of all the social media hooplah over the inferiority of original bearing/pivot assembly, I can't actually knock the knife I recieved too harshly. Is it as [insert silly refere...

Re: Good all around knife for working around the house & yard
The Endura is a great knife, but that SS is going to be about the worst possible version for house/yard work. Slick scales & pinned construction do not lend themselves well to a down & dirty working knife, imo. As others have already mentioned, I'd also recommend the Pacific Salt (I like SE ...

Re: Do you use your Spyderco or just collect them?
Do you use your Spyderco or just collect them? Yes. I've never bought I knife I'm not willing to carry and use as a knife for appropriate knife tasks. Problem is, I've accumulated so many at this point, it's just not possible that they all see a ton of use.. many of them still look brand new. Hah, ...

This is exciting news! The WolfSpyder has always been bit of a sleeper I think, but it's a really cool little knife. Ergos are pretty good for it's size, but I always wished it was a little larger.. here's hoping for an xl!

Gayle Bradley Advocate is on the way. Hey tactikool - You ordered this from Hand-Tools, yes? Did it ever arrive? If so, did the knife seem legit/new in box, etc? The site seemed a little sketchy to me, but based on some recent favorable reviews from members here, I also ordered an Advocate yesterda...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
The slippery and uncluttered Protech Malibu.malibu 05.jpg They'd be so, so perfect with just a little bit more texture to the scales.. even if it were just like a minimal Benchmade 940 type finish on the aluminum. I've never actually dropped mine or anything, but it's always a thought in the back o...
