Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!

There's speculation over on the Millie, PM2, Para3 group on FB that the pivot screw is made to accept Torx Plus bits rather than the standard Torx. I checked mine using a T8 Wiha bit and the fit is a bit loose. T9 is too large. Just wanted to mention it here before somebody stripped their pivot scr...

Re: How about... a saber grind PM2

I can sometimes get on board for a very high hollow grind, but a saber grind with a hollow just doesn’t do anything for me whatsoever. I just don’t like the performance. 🤷

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

You guys keep me honest, but Chicago Knife Works has the Zoomer for $225 w/ new customer signup. https://www.chicagoknifeworks.com/spyderco-zoomer-5-25/ I snagged one just because I’ve always irrationally wanted one and they’ve been at $400 forever Bah. Paid $175 for mine from DLT a little while ba...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!

I'm stoked that this is coming back for the people who missed out on the first Knifejoy release (or the original Bowie for that matter). I personally really enjoy mine. I have knives ranging in value from $50 - $1,600 and think it faces off very well against other ~$400 - $500 knives in my collectio...

Re: Maxamet Sage 5 LW Discussions

$40 more for the LW than the Maxamet/G10 Sage seems like weird pricing. Pretty sure the G10 model is just on discount everywhere since it's been discontinued. I remember them going for over $260 at retailers earlier this year before they were discontinued. But prices definitely increasing across th...

Re: Handle Scale Vendors

Suingab does amazing work. https://g10.lt/ I was going to make a post to ask about any personal Suingab experiences. The website photos look fantastic, but with estimates rather than set pricing, ordering via email, international shipping, etc., I just wanted to hear from someone who had ordered fr...

Re: Custom Chaparral LW Micarta Scales!

This set was made from some WW2 era, 19040’s U.S. navy black rag phenolic, with an inlay made from a custom pressed rag phenolic consisting of black burlap, double burgundy canvas, and ivory linen (as well as a set of blue anodized hardware from BladeWeLove). :) https://i.imgur.com/8zeKGxl.jpg https...

I took a different route with my MagnaCut Native 5 Salt... https://i.imgur.com/XlHxeM9.jpg These are great. I got the Para 3 LW set and they seem to true everything up. Still crazy light but much more solid if that makes sense. If you can catch the next drop, that would be my choice for the Native ...

I took a different route with my MagnaCut Native 5 Salt... https://i.imgur.com/XlHxeM9.jpg That looks great! I'll likely go the same route in future, but I'm waiting for their hard anodised scales for the time being. I dyed scales before. I'm not against it, but it is not my perference. AWT really ...

Custom Chaparral LW Micarta Scales!

RC Bladeworks has been REALLY knocking out some new designs lately! In the past month or so, he's come out with new, inlayed Micarta/G-carta scales for the Delica, the Endura, and the Endela. Well, he just did it again! This time for the Spyderco Chaparral LW! You can have them made with, or without...

So, it looks like he just completed the design for the Chaparral LW! You can get them with, or without an inlay.

Re: A new option for CRAZY good Delica scales!

His Chaparral and Chaparral LW scales should be out real soon too! Whoa! Nice! Hopefully they do G-10 and carbon fiber too! I think he exclusively works with Micarta/G-carta type composites, but I'll shoot him a message to see if that's a possibility. He's been talking about working out some millin...

Re: A new option for CRAZY good Delica scales!

Just picked up another set of scales from RC Bladeworks. :grin-big eyes This time for my K390 Delica Wharncliffe. This one uses blue canvas Micarta as the base material, and then has G-carta Mexican Blanket Ridgeback for the inlay. :smiling-heart-eyes RC Bladeworks includes a backspacer made out of ...

Geez, that price is way too high. Nearly double the cost of a delica.
Inlays are difficult! Not to mention a slab of G-carta to use for the inlay can cost $40+ alone. It’s $80 for Micarta scales without an inlay through him.
