Re: KW CF/M4 PM2 question
It's one solid machined piece of CF (or two, one for each handle side). The quality is very very high as well, and I like the execution on this better than the CF Yojimbo 2. EDIT: I just noticed that the knife in the picture is set-up as right side tip down (as it comes from the factory). The guy wh...

Spyderco and law enforcement personnel
I've seen several YouTube videos where active LE personnel reference Spyderco as the de facto standard knife for LE. Granted, the sample size is small (their unit/department/other buddies on the force) and it's wildly unscientific. But I wonder: how true is it? How popular is Spyderco with law enfor...

Re: Ikuchi
So let's talk about the practical uses for this knife other than it being a flipper which is my old man version of a fidget spinner. https://www.bladehq.com/imgs/spyderco-ikuchi-black-c242cfp-jr-large.jpg Blade shape and ergonomics: Fancy letter-opener? Obviously, it's going to be a wicked slicer, ...

Re: eBay selling
I forget the eBay fee structure but it's percentage based, off the final sell price.
The fee can be as high as ten percent (which is astronomical, if you really think about it).
Try Reddit as well, there's a vibrant knife enthusiast community on there (r/knives and r/knifeclub).

Re: Hard truths and observations
A few observations in no particular order: - an apt car analogy (everyone gets car and sports analogies, right?) would be the changes that started in the 80s, in the US car industry; you can steadfastly refuse to buy "imports" and insist on "buy American!" but the reality is, KIA...

Re: Red G10 20CV Manix 2 - DLT EXCLUSIVE
I picked up 2 (the limit) as the clock on my phone turned 11:00 CST.
I checked again at 11:06:andsomeseconds and it was sold out.
Can't wait to get them in the mail.

Re: Deep carry pocket clips
My present favorite knife is the Para 3 because of MXG clip. I don't like the huge hole in my handle(lanyard), looking for custom scales w/o lanyard hole. Let me know if you do! Can you two please not hijack this thread? Has anyone ever tried modifying a regular Spyderco clip into a deep carry? One...

Re: Deep carry pocket clips
I’m all for a factory deep carry option but the topic seems to trigger non deep carry people pretty hard. So unless Sal himself is taking a poll of support, I’ll leave it alone Yikes. I've been summarily put in my place. Don't take it personally. There's a cult like portion of the membership here t...

Deep carry pocket clips
@sal: I'm partial to deep carry clips (Lynch NW / MXG Gear) and have spent a hefty sum to put them on my Spydercos. Have you thought about offering something similar straight from the factory? This could be an accessory (much like the lanyard beads & trinkets available), finished like the normal...

Re: Shipping of internal parts
I hamfisted the disassembly of a Para 3 to put Micarta scales on it (marred the lanyard tube and one of the standoffs that wouldn't come loose with a set of fine pliers). Operationally, the knife is flawless (and the Micarta feels exceptional in hand, warm and almost organic, unlike CF/G10/Ti/Al). A...
