Clearly designed to prevent someone from opening your knife without your knowledge, but you are supposed to use a locking cable.

An impressive security feature!

Take a look at the Ikuchi. Yeah, its s30V, but CF handle and very gentlemanly despite its length.

My Ikuchi preorder from Knifecenter has shipped.

I have one and while I don't think I would call it rare, it does command a hefty price in the secondary market. I am fond of all the Viele Spyderco knives, perhaps because of the Micarta on the handles. Another excellent knife designer we have lost.

If blades were all made in Golden, were the handles and assembly done in Europe or Golden?

I would be up for a reissue of any of the Viele knives, even though I have all of them. A new model would be a real treat. His collaborations with Spyderco really speak to me. A JD Smith model is also appealing. Even if a designer has died, they may have left models (in varying stages of completion)...

Vampliers available on Amazon will get that screw out!

Just notified that Knifecenter is shipping my preorder. I didn't place the order until August, so they must have gotten a substantial number in and are getting caught up.

Bleach or alcohol should kill off just about any fungus, virus, or bacteria. I thought FRN was pretty tough and would not be hurt by either, but I may be wrong. Soap and water (the solution to pollution is dilution) would be both safe and effective.
