Re: VG10 HRC
I don't watch much YouTube reviews. The one's that I watched were not very knowledgeable about knives, at least by my standards. I found Cedric & Ada and a few others good as well. I find that many reviewers that have an "opinion" seem to believe that their "opinion" is someh...

Hi Scandi Grind, I had a small number of them made a while ago for professional chefs. A large knife, MBS-26 blade steel. Exceptional quality. Didn't do well in sales. Very expensive. It's kind funny, I've had chefs contacting me since, trying to find one. Hard to beat, about 12" long blade. sal

Hi Steeltoes, Was if finished? Did you use it? sal Sal, I'll just make ya one and you can test it. Love to Shawn. Almost like a new steel, and one that I chose for our introduction of powdered metals into the production market. I'd like to pay for it or trade you something. If it works well, we mig...

Hey Steeltoes,
What knife did you use with Shawn's heat treat of S60V?

Hi Tucson Tom. Sorry for your disappointment. But as Yab said, there are likely other advantages. We made them to see what we all can learn. Gail and I played round with Ceramic knives as possible dive knife use 20+ years ago. We made a number of prototypes with a ceramic company in the US. So far w...

Hi TkoK83Spy,

Hey Jason,
Interesting history. I would guess most folks here have an interesting history. Life is a "Long and winding road".
Hope Mike' gets well quickly.
I guess we're getting a bit off topic here?

Re: Visualizing the Tradeoff of Higher Hardness
Thanx Shawn,
That's good to hear. How hard do you recommend for S60V? Do you have any special heat treat? Do you think it's worth making a run of S60V?
Hey Synov,
Thanx for the info. Combined with Shawn's comments, that makes sense.
Larrin sure is an asset.
