I'm looking for the G10 or CF version of the UKPK Gut.

It doesn't matter what you use to put a patina on steel as long as it is an acid. But I wouldn't recommend vinegar or mustard. Both take relatively long to create a patina and vinegar mixed with rust stinks terribly. I use highly concentrated citric acid. It is fast(because of the concentration) and...

Ok I think I buy a Falcon ultralight. I just love smooth Micarta. It's a pity that the original Calypso and Calypso Jr. are discontinued. And I don't get why Mr.Glesser doesn't like Micarta anymore. Al Mar knives aren't bad and use this material even without liners. I know it's not the toughest mate...

The quality of the Al Mar Knives I have looked at is good. I wanted a Shrike for a long time until I finally got to see one and discovered the pocket clip mounted for tip down carry and that put an end to that. To me the pocket clip makes the folder just as the sheath makes the fixed blade. I don't...

Al Mar knives

Does anyone have experiences with Al Mar knives? What can you say about the quality? Are they worth the money? Unfortunately they are pretty expensive here in Austria just like the :spyder: s of which I know they are worth it

Sorry for the bad picture. I made that patina by putting the knife(1095 steel) in high concentrated citric acid for several hours. From my experience that works much better than vinegar and you get that rusty and dirty look. In addition it doesn't smell as bad.

I don't really know but I would say the blade just doesn't get as sharp as with the flats. From my experience the blade gets a pretty decent edge though

Probably not from a production standpoint but they don't currently exist so they'll take a lot more work to make into reality. It could take years to develop a new model from the ground up. The Dodo seems pretty easy to pull off and could be a reality since the popularity of the Dodo seems to be th...

I just meant, realistic as in something already in production that wouldn't necessitate a completely new model. Throwing a compression lock on a 80mm Manix is a completely new model. A DLC treatment or different scale material, or even a different blade grind seems pretty reasonable to me as they'r...

A smaller, Native or Delica-sized Manix2 with FFG would be great in my opinion. Or another Dodo in a less flashy color like gray or brown for instance. Also I think a Calypso or CalypsoJr. in the style of Al Mar's ultralight knives could be interesting. Pinned construction and linerless smooth G10 h...

I've had similar probems with some lock backs, to include Buck 110's and others. 99% of the time a good cleaning resolves the issue. A bit of pocket lint or other muck in the lock engagement area can keep it from locking completely. Thank you for the tip but I already knew that. My knife is clean a...

That is exactly what I meant. I think my Natives are the only ones on earth that have bladeplay and all the others are perfect. Maybe just real bad luck

Everybody says the Native5 has no blade play but I own two and both of them have noticeable up down play. My forum Native has got even a little bit side to side. That is annoying but however the Native is my favorite :spyder:

I think this will be my first Mule. 9% vanadium sounds very interesting. But to my knowledge Böhler Uddeholm steel company is not headquartered in Vienna. I'm not sure but I think it is in the province "Niederösterreich" or Lower Austria in English. But I may be wrong
