Sal,
I sort of threw this topic together because I was horrified to find MBC empty. Gentlemen (ladies) This can be a fixed blade or a folder, and do you have a preference in a defensive knife.

Ronin and I are within walking distance of eachother.
I'm from Albuquerque New Mexico by way of Seattle Washington and Hammond Louisiana (about an hour north of New Orleans, and yes I've been to Mardi Gras)

top 5 features you want in an MBC blade.

the MBC forum was a bit slow this weekend. I'd like to get as many opinions as to what you'd like to see in an MBC knife. Length, size shape, steel, handle material, all the little things or just the 5 most important features you feel a MBC knife should have. My top five would be: 1. g-10 handle 2. ...

help me find a Spyderco "R" knife

Sal, Bram, Anyone? I'm on a quest for a Spyderco "R" knife I think it's called. It's like the little laser cut "Q" knife but I'd say Endura sized. I also heard over in MBC forum that they also had those in the aluminum handles. I'd be interested in acquiring one or both of this m...

I want to thank all of you for your responces. They were What I was looking for. I wanted input on how the gunting feels to carry, and I wanted opinions as to it's utility applications. I must have missed the multi-use of force possibilities potential present in this blade. My primary concern was th...

Spyderco "R" Knife?

Help me out here guys. I'm firmly convinced that recently I came across a photo of a Spyderco R knife. This Knife was an endura sized version of the Spyderco Q knives. Skeletonized handle and all. Please tell me I'm not hallucinating here, I can't seem to find it anywhere now that I want to put my h...

Gunting concerns

Was curious about something. I'm starting to think that we as a defensive knife culture have lost sight of the fact that 99 times out of 100 we'll call on our knives to do utility work, basic cutting chores, boxes, cord and the like. Yes we all prepare for that one time when we'll be called upon to ...

Hey guys
just as a note Bear MGC puts out a rather nice line of balisong, in the $30 to $50 range. they're one step above POS quality though not quite Benchmate.

I just want to add that regardless of how many times pepper spray doesn't work it IS still another level of the use of force continum and a viable one at that. I have used it effectively several times. the key thing to remember as you all were quick to point out is that some times it won't work. and...

I fell off the Chinook bandwagon..

Without hesitation I admit the Chinook is a great knife, but for some reason I just don't get that 'have to have it' vibe. I'm familiar with the materials, construction and have even handled one, so I've no doubt as to it's quality I just don't get that spark. I've read all the posts about the Chino...

Gentlemen. Is it just me or are there like a ton of other options for dealing with road rage. Personally I don't really care if some one blares his horn or flips me off when blowing past me, if anything I find it amusing that someone would care enough about me that he felt the need to share his opin...

My personal favorite spyder knife was the calypso (?) Jr. with the steel handles. Little utility knife with wicked defence potential. It was beautiful as well. it looked pretty and yet evil at the same time. and it was not large enough to be obnoxious every time you wanted to open a box you didn't h...
