sounds like something worth a try. ive been using a couple of buffing wheel compounds for stainless and one for carbon steels and apply them to the strops in the same manner as you describe. would like something that works a little faster than what i use.

ok seen knife throwing vids before this one isnt in the same league as the cute little cali gal that has dozens on the tube. she doesnt advertise them as kill shots or self defense. what are you going to do, tell the bad guy to stand at 15ft, dont move while i throw a knife ? seems pretty far fetche...

giving the sage a new look

well just a shameless excuse to post more knife pics. anyway been a while since i got most of my gang of knives together for a few pics. the focus is of course my sage 2 and my tenacious. basically i stone washed the blades on both,. the scales on the sage and also the clip on the tenacious. really ...

How is a scandi different than a hollow grind? The fact that there is no final edge bevel? I'm just trying to make sure i understand this right...a scandi grind goes all the way to the final edge instead of going down to an edge bevel, right? This to me seems like a very delicate, very thin edge. i...

ill add that you can do what you want , i mean the thing will cut pretty much anything any other similarly sized blade will cut. if you feel its capable of out cutting other grinds in other daily tasks then by all means do a review and put it on youtube. i dont think based on responses that theres m...

id agree its a woods knife and works well on wood working tasks. but then try slicing an apple without the slice breaking into pieces. i think you probubly already realize there in your own words that its a bushcraft knife and the scandi grind is more suited to that type of use, that said you could ...

The really sad thing about the DC (Heller) case, is that there are still 4 justices that believe a total ban is acceptable. I would hardly call it a "win", and if anything should be a real eye opener. I still don't see how these various localities have gotten away with this crap, the popu...

Sage 3 or Blackie Collins tribute sprint.

Just a thought. Blackie Collins recently passed away, thought at some point a tribute knife in the form of the sage 3 might be a good memorial and testiment to Mr Collins.

i think you have to look beyond the edge to see what works well for other blade shapes vs the scandi. ffg and saber ground blades will probubly make better slicers. depending on material being cut. for bush craft i prefer a convex to those but havnt tried a scandi yet either. there are pros and cons...
