Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I keep forgetting to look for that Sea Salt & Lime Shiner. I have the ol' stanby Shiner Bock in the fridge. Might have to go over to the local beer store and see if I can add a new flavor to that
EDIT...and nice lookin' bacon you have there lol

I checked my CF Caly 3.5 under my magnifying light and no gaps on mine. It's about as good as it gets.

I don't remember seeing any gaps on my CF Caly 3.5. If there are they're so tiny my 54 year old can't seem them lol. I'll try to remember to check tonight.

Re: DLC 20CV PM2?
Looks nice but I'm over my limit on PM2s plus I already have the satin version. So I'll sit back and watch this one. Looks nice, I just think those scales would be a pain to keep clean if used or carried regularly. This is my main concern and the only reason I will probably pass. Sucks because I lov...

Re: Uploading a photo to the forum
Apparently I stll don't know how. Not tech savy. Just use the drop down menu to change the link type to "BBCode". Copy and paste that directly into your post. No need to add IMG tags. Not all browsers support that drop down menu, but if yours does it's a convenient option. You're right. I...

Re: How do you find your favorite type of steel? (School Project)
Nice project JS_KN! Good luck with this one. I have pretty much all the steels that Spyderco's made in recent years and I do not have a favorite type. Honestly...I like them all. I guess if someone told me (the God of Knives?) that I had to pick one type and only use that I'd have to assess my needs...

Re: 3D files of blade shapes for accessory products
Guessing and printing things that don't quite fit is the costly process I don't want to engage in. All you need to do is model your Kydex version and print a proto and tweak the design and repeat. I've been making a few things on my 3D printers recently and one of best features is that you can prin...

Re: Forum knife for 2019?
I think the Chaparral lw would make for a good platform for a forum knife. For me a knife everone should own (say I, beeing NOT into small folders generally) - and if only just for experiencing the phenomenal lock and how slicey and still solid thin stock (2mm) can be. Than, not unimportant for a f...

Looks like the 2018 Forum Knife is still available. I was able to add one to my cart.

I hate to be a killjoy but they don't usually do forum knives two years in a row. I wouldn't count on one for 2019

Re: Native 5 pricey
Sal has said that more goes into producing a good back lock than meets the eye....or something along those lines. The Native 5, with it's refined back lock, is likely harder to produce then it seems.

Re: 3D files of blade shapes for accessory products
OP what do you use for 3D modeling? I think it would be easier (and likely faster) to just draw the blade and then use that as a template for your part. Fusion 360 has a feature where you can import a picture of an object. Then you can scale the pic to size using known dimensions. Once you have that...

Re: The care and feeding of your carbon fiber
I really don't do anything to my CF handles except wipe them off once in a while. If they got dirty enough that I thought I needed to actually clean them I'd probably use dish washing soap and hot water. I don't think they're porous at all btw.

I answered yes....or I would've if that was one of the choices. I was going to choose bright colors but I also like some earth tones and I even like basic black.

Re: More models with clad blades?
Cladding....seems like either they love it or they hate it haha For sure, I didn't want a clad knife for... I'm not sure, aesthetic reasons I guess, or for reasons which seemed tied to purity, but I keep worrying and babying my Cruwear PM2 when using it for food or outdoors (which is very frequentl...
