Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

All that I can tell you on that one is that, to me, all steels have subtle nuances. I may not always be able to frame it in words or prove it scientifically. But I can feel it in my hand.

Re: KnifeCenter CPM-CRUWEAR Native 5 with smooth black G10

This to me would be an excellent woodcarving knife. I don't mind smooth G10. But it depends on the purpose of the knife for the user. A hard work knife begs for a textured handle. The only exception to me is something like the recent manix 2 cruwear/smooth G10 run, since the manix has deep finger g...

Re: Mourning for the brick and mortar stores

A lot of the benefit of shopping on line was the tax free break. I am hoping that now that they are killing me with taxes like everyone else, plus the ability to actually see and hold the knife before you buy it will help mom and pop shops. Like earlier stated, it bothers me that I live within drivi...

Re: A Spyderco "Throwing Pocket Knife".

Just buy some throwing stars. They can fit in a case in your back pocket and look like a wallet. You aren't likely to really stop someone without a super lucky shot but they are really fun to play with.

Re: Red G10 Para 3 M390

I wouldn't worry about getting one. The lack of sprints or exclusives of any other model as far as Golden is concerned is well lamented on this board. It seems that Spyderco/dealers are content to run sprints and exclusives of the Para 3 into the ground, until the market is so saturated that we a ha...

Re: Selfish request for another Manix 2 in M390 or 20CV

It seems that someone posted earlier that DLT had put out on Instagram that they were doing a DLC version of the red as well. Is this a set in stone thing?? I'm loving mine in 20CV...but with those scales and a DLC blade/hardware/liners...MUST HAVE! I can't verify that it is even true. Someone on t...

I'd want something with good wear resistance, simply because that increases the lifetime of the blade, because we don't know if we'll ever see another sprint of this model. Rex 45, 4v, k390?
Yeah, +1 from me.

Re: "Most Durable" available Spyderco Knife?

For a folder, hands down a GB1. It's a tank. For a fixed blade I have 20CV Mule and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Re: Parata Finally

Hi JD. I have never owned an Ayoob but I would I would love to try one. Mainly my post was about the degeneration of quality out of Seki and is just my subjective opinion. In talking about dressing game, we already kinda hashed that out. Just to be simple and blunt, like SG88 pointed out, organs, bl...

Re: Parata Finally

It's an honest question. I have been around life for a while and I have seen the knives out of Seki go from being some of the best production knives in the world to being mediocre at best. In the last couple of years, other than standard FRN models. I have received very poor quality knives includin...

Re: Parata Finally

Other than a Stretch I would never trust a knife out of Seki for skinning anything. JDW, not a challenging question here. Just genuinely interested in your thoughts. Wondering what your opinion is (good, bad, or indifferent) of Seki based knives. Have you had some issues with them, or care to expou...

Well, I just don’t see the use of that knife. Can someone please explain? Looks neat, but...
I asked the same question in a thread. The designer patronized me with name games for the knife and legit answers seem to be food prep.

Re: Yojimbo 2 wharncliffe with straight edge vs. curved sword cutting philosophy

My question would be why do we see historical swords from different world regions designed so differently? Is it the development of technology, different methods of warfare? Attack vs defense? This a fascinating thread.

Edit: And who came up with the idea of a fuller?
