Keep the knife loose in your pocket with your keys for five years. My beater Delica has a clip with almost no finish left now!

G10 can get dry-looking. I've found Ballistol to be a terrific G10 rejuvenator. I think I used it on my Para last month.

Ballistol is actually also a very good lube, and is food-safe. I think I got my can of it at the Spydie Factory years ago.

4000 is pretty amazing, actually. You have to figure that maybe one out of every 100 people who like Spyderco knives actually gets online, goes to this forum, and then signs up. So we're talking about half a million people. Wow--makes me wonder how many Spydercos have been made, in total, over the y...

Exactly. And I don't mind paying extra for the cool scales. In fact I've been waiting to get in line for a while!

Thanks for the explanation Shmackey. I tried that but I guess my hands are a bit too rough to fit in there. Question: If this knife is a second - where is the notch? Yep--I have the kind of girly, desk-jockey hands that see a keyboard more than anything else. The notch is on the spine of the blade,...

I feel left out - I have never been bitten by a Lil'Temperance. Ever since I read your post I have been trying to figure out how part of a hand could get between any moving surfaces. Tried it with both the rhino and leaf point. I guess no one ever showed me the secret handshake. Have fun with your ...

I bought two Spydies and two other-brand knives (to knock around and observe their inferiority to the Spydies) yesterday.

That's true generally, about many American businesses, but it's not the case with the workers in the Golden factory. Not at all.

Is this spring back action when opened just a little bit exclusive to lock backs? Or maybe we could some day see it in a compression lock? What about ball bearing locks? Do they spring back when opened slightly? It's not exclusive to lockbacks. The Axis lock does a terrific job of it, and the Ball ...

Try this: once you've done all the sharpening and it's time to remove the final burr, increase the angle against the stone and do a very light pass.

The horns and generally high-ride carry are why I moved the clip for tip-up carry on this one. That and it stays closed against my pocket. I often like tip-down carry for knives with the Spydie hole, but the Lil' Temp is more manageable with tip-up.
