Did the matriarch 2 have a CQI? My edge seems so different from all the pics I’ve seen.
So I realized I don’t have one single self defense knife. I don’t really think of knives as self defense tools since I can carry a gun, but that’s beside the point. I decided I should get one just to have, and also because I’m a spyderco nut. Anyway, all the pics I can find (everywhere) show a fairl...

Re: New reveal...Zwear/micarta Shaman, s90v Native Chief, k390 Seki series, Slysz Swayback! So much to love.
Never liked CF - aesthetics but also the weirdness of using materials that will last for thousands and thousands of years, long after the blade and eveything else has decayed. It just doesn't seem like a material we should be using on trivial things like knives. Spaceships, maybe. And the whole lam...

I have used Zwear for the last 7 years on a strider SnG. I have loved the steel for a long, long time. I do stupid stuff with it just because I can, and it doesn’t damage it.
It also holds an edge very well. I concur that cruwear and Zwear are so alike as to be almost identical in use.

Re: Linerless G10 S30V Endura
After using the linerless g10 native 5, I gotta say I’d go for this. I would absolutely love a linerless g10 endura AND Delica. And dragonfly for that matter. The native is really not much heavier than the FRN version, but it’s a whole lot more rigid and feels better. And that’s coming from someone ...

Re: Para 3 Defect?
It is not defective. I have literally over 30 para 3’s and I’m pretty sure they all have this. Just got 2 of the 204p versions in today. Both have this.
Edit: should have looked at how old this thread was before adding my reply. Didn’t realize someone brought this back from the dead. :o

Are these being rolled out soon?
My annual trip to the beach house is coming up and every year I spend at least a week fishing for reds all day every day. It is bliss.
And I need this knife to do it. :D

Does anyone have ANY info about where the GB2 is?
Been waiting on this knife for what feels like a year. It’s not on the disco’d list, but seems to be out of stock literally everywhere.
This is one of the best using knives spyderco makes IMO. I’d like to get a couple more.
Anyone have any info? Much appreciated.

Oh good. When I read about your troubles I was bummed out. So glad it got to you!
This knife is “ugly” but for some reason it’s so appealing to me. I love it. It’s so ugly that it’s cool looking. :D

Re: Para 3 lw
I never warmed to my Para 3 LW. My initial impression was great and if it weren’t for a few issues with it I’m sure I’d like it more. Mine has bad detent slop in the closed position, when the wire clip isn’t requiring bending, despite being loctited, the screw for it is coming loose. Lots to love t...

How the heck are we ever supposed to buy the knives we love if 20 different dealers get 10 knives and sell out in seconds? Who can seriously keep up with this? As a long time spyderco die hard of 12 years, I am surprisingly frustrated and close to being done. I have been eagerly awaiting the para 3...

Re: Maximet PM2 at Blade H.Q. I bought one how about you?
I bought a para 2 and para 3 and native in Maxamet when they came out. I used my native and it was so fast to patina I never did use either para. They sat in the safe. When I bought them I had an alert posted to me when the maxamet para 2 and 3 were in stock. I got the notice and had to pull off th...

Re: Snapping clip screws
Sounds to me like you’re slightly cross threading them. It’s easy to do with the fine pitch.
If the screws are getting so tight you’re snapping heads off before the clip is held on tightly, then they almost have to be cross threaded.

The rat race turns me off so badly.
I want one of these but I literally don’t even have the chance to get one. I can’t check the forums every 5 minutes despite wanting to. They come and they go....immediately.
I’m tiring of this.

Re: Can some steels be bad for our health ?
The inhalation issue is more for miners or people in an industrial setting using grinders. If you're going to take a powered sharpening system to a blade, you should probably use a respirator, but I doubt you'll be making significant amounts of airborne dust with stones or strops. That's a good rul...
