It's called "phishing" and it's one of the most prevalent scams out there lately. Mostly they center around credit card companies or eBay, that's the first I've heard of regarding PayPal though. Bottom line is, never sign in using a link you receive in an email. Even if you think it's genu...

Oh ****, I LOVE the pepper :D Maybe you folks out West and up North just don't appreciate good hot salsa like we do in Texas ;) It's got to have jalapeños, baby. lol. Not to mention that it's a clever pun on Sal's name. I've got a green and a blue, I'd love to find a PE Cranberry one next.

Welcome, Brisben. G2 and Gin-1 are the same steel, and this alloy is a product of Hitachi steel. I've never had much luck finding steel information on Hitachi's alloys online, but in use, I like G2 very much. I certainly wouldn't abandon it in favor of the newest "flavor of the month" in s...

Sword and Shield wrote:Make sure any and all burrs are removed.
I have to second this recommendation - it sounds as if you still had a small burr, which rolls off and breaks as you cut. Definitely strop before trying the same cut again and see if there's a difference.

I'd like to see the proof of that statement, because I believe it's completely false. It's my belief that there are many, many more guns that are simply stored in drawers and under beds than there ever are in safes.

Does anyone like that appearance as much as I? Does anyone know more about the process? I am all ears. :spyder:  :) :spyder: :) I'm fond of the finish as well. I'm not sure what Microtech uses, but the process I'm experienced with is not actually a tumbling process, but one called vibratory f...

I personally think Carlos has been doing a good job too. It's a lot of work and tends to be thankless. If Spyderco does decide to look at clarifying the Forum Guidleines, there are other things there that don't seem to make sense. For example: "Do not transmit via Spyderco Forum any information...

Well if that's Emerson's promotion, the unbroken CRKT in the pic too doesn't exactly lend an exceptional sense of quality to the survivors.

Amen, RLR. I've been saying that for years. The improvements in modern steels are remarkable, but the older versions were plenty good too and I suspect if you gave users four different knives with four different unmarked steel blades, most couldn't tell which was which. Still, innovation sells produ...

Clay Kesting wrote:Can anyone tell me what materiel the back spacer on the Centofante III is made of?
Clay, there's no backspacer, proper. Being made of FRN, the handle is a two piece design (kind of like the FRN Cricket) - the front scale is molded with an integral backspacer and the back scale is riveted on.
