Mr Blonde - I love these threads too. I'll try to get a shot together soon. Thanks for sharing Jeff. I too did some thinking about my collection and recycled a few. Now I've got knives I really love, not just ones I felt I had to buy. That maxim is really governing my purchases now. If I 'm not in l...

Sal I use a 4" blade on average I use it from everything to opening the mail to cutting sailcloth to parting lobster warp from the propeller to cutting my apple into wedges - in other words everything! I began carrying a knife when about 9-10 years old. Hope this helps you out. ><((('<

Gang- CTI D&R doesn't do the best job of maintaining an accuarate list of what is REALLY available on their website. For example: they've been sold out of the FRN Walker and the Jot Singh KHalsa for a very long time.

Blades - if you know of any other Blue Lums let me know. I'd love to use one as an EDC -but it seems they are a little rare. I feel the same way about my Flat-Iron folder. What I wouldn't give for another one of those!!

Blades! I did find one, or raher one found me. One very nice man who I got to know thru some back and forth e-mails actually GAVE me a NIB never even opened Blue Lum folder. It is exquisite, and all the more so, because it was an outright GIFT from someone on the forum. It is very special to me. The...

As for naming a knife for the clergy - like the billy clubs used to kill fish - it should be named "The Priest".....Case closed.

BLADES ! I love this, bringing knives to church! As an Anglican priest I find this most sublime. Bring the things you treasure most to the altar of God, and be prepared for anything, and wonderfully balanced as well. I'll share a little story about showing up once a "little too armed." i w...

i like Paul's ideas on the shape of the scales. I don't like Cobra Hoods or wire clips - so i wouldn't vote for them. I'd add ridges on the thumb choil. I think the three-screw tip up/tip down clip is so far aesthetically superior to what i call the "budget" clip, if all of this is truly u...

yachtsman....custom collaboration...?

One of my dreams is that Spyderco folk will address the vacancy in the boating knife world, and revisit the whole concept of the Yachtsman --a knife never put into production. I know nothing of the development of this concept or the history of the "conversation", I just know that Spyderco ...

yeah Swede - I hear ya. All of the crud and creeping rust around the little allen screws. I want to take them out and marinate them in a bath of Mystery Oil for a couple of days and then gently rub that rust off. If you ever figure out the size of that wrench i'd be much obliged in finding out. I'm ...

Very nice collection. I love the tiny one bottom left; I think the bottom right is the co-pilot (?). Paul are you a deacon in your local parish? <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
