Some time back, Sal said that Spyderco's best seller is the fully-serrated Delica (at least I think that was it). I suspect it's possible the fully-serrated version outsells the plain edge version may be due to the fact at most sporting goods stores that sell Spydercos, they usually only carry the f...

The G-10 version is discontinued because it wasn't selling well enough. I have handled both versions and the fact I own two SS-handled Police models and no G-10 version speaks for itself. I like and own many G-10 handled knives, and I do like flat-ground blades, but for myself, I like the SS Police'...

Due to seeing the movie "Training Day" last week I've put my SS serrated Police back on RH front pocket duty...it's always been one of my all-around favorite knives and is now, after a few months, back in the "elite" of my main carry knife rotation. I always have my red Ladybug o...

I like and carry Benchmade knives. I also like and carry Spyderco's. In fact, my main EDC is almost always a Spycerco or a Benchmade, sometimes one of each. It depends on what mood I'm in as to which I will carry, i.e., which particular knife I want on me that day. IMO, the friendly competition betw...

I never feel bad. I only feel bad if I don't have a knife on me. Several years ago a woman in my class was struggling to open a plastic package with her teeth. I offered to let her use the small Case pocketknife I had, and she snobbily spurned it. "No, I will NOT use your...KNIFE." she sai...

I also favor the Spydiehole openers, although some of my favorite knives also have disks and thumbstuds. Besides ease of use, the hole openers never get in the way when cutting, and obviously they require no device to be attached to the blade, so the simplicity factor.

I thought I read somewhere (forgot where) that the new Endura and Delica models will, in addition to VG-10 steel, also feature a flat saber grind instead of the hollow grind, to aid in tip strength. Is this so?

I own knives from both brands, but own far more Victorinox. Both make very good products, but I prefer Victorinox and just IMO I feel they are a bit better than the Wengers, though Wenger knives often incorporate new ideas. I just like Victorinox better, also because at one point my only knife was a...

The Meerkat

Yesterday I got one and I must say it's better even than I expected, especially considering the low price. I already like 440C steel a lot, and the Phantom Lock is quite interesting. When the knife is fully opened or closed, you'd never think the left scale is designed to pivot forward...the double ...

My work takes me onto university and community colleges campuses throughout my city. I always carry knives on me. In fact, I often have the clip fairly obvious since the clip's often silver, but not a single person has ever expressed any indication to me they've even noticed. Well, actually, once so...

Jeff: I have only handled a Vesuvius, but just in my opinion I'm not sure it would make the best hunting-type blade. It pinched me a few times during openings, and when open I *almost* felt like if I was not really careful I could accidentally have it unlock on me...but YMMV. (Please don't take this...

I have both a SS Dragonfly and a FRN one, both plainedge. I like them both, but I find my SS version is easier and more comfortable to open/close than the FRN one. Also like the greater thinness of the SS. Yesterday I had a need to touch up the edge. It took all of about less than 2 minutes...the ed...

My favorite serration pattern is the Spyderco pattern. I was wondering if perhaps the serrations would remain pointier longer if, when sharpening, one sharpens each groove at a time? I find the serrated blades cut cardboard fairly cleanly (not necessarily straight) on cardboard that isn't too thick....

I have read on the BF forum in a thread, someone posted he was informed that knives will not be allowed even in checked-in baggage. I like knives in all edge configurations, it all depends what I want it for, and sometimes even the model itself. I tend to like the Endura models fully serrated more than plain, and the Delica in both plain and full serrated. I like the Wegner and the Military and Calypso Jr. to be plain, and the S...
