Re: Salt yellow + which rit dye = salt green

I used Kelly Green thinking it might come close. I probably submersed it too long.

Re: If Spyderco made a traditional pocket knife

Please define what features make it traditional. Slip joint? Jigged bone and metal bolsters? No Spydie hole and a nail nick? 1095 carbon steel? If that's the definition, than no, I would not. I have several GEC's to fill that niche. In the past they've had versions of models (Delica I believe) with ...

Re: Salt yellow + which rit dye = salt green

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I don't think the blue will work but I hope I'm wrong.

Yes, that would make the Chapparal my new Seahawks game day knife for sure. That's gorgeous.

Re: magnacut - mule v native - how did it evolve?

My recollection, and too lazy to search this morning, is part of the delay on the Native was also about the steel in the lock bar. And IIRC, Shawn Houston consulted on the HT on the Native to help get it dialed in. So I do think there may be differences between the HT on the Mule vs Native.

Re: Green Native 5 Salt LC200N

Superficial and petty of me, but I love that green. I have a LC200N already, but have contemplated getting it in green and transplanting my MagnaCut blade in it. Also have contemplated doing the same with the UKPK when it comes out in MagnaCut. Beautiful pictures guys!

Finally got my UKPK in Spy27. I agree the same knife in G10 in that same blue would be awesome.

Re: Mid-sized Native?

IIRC, Sal had a bunch of variations of the Shaman in mind, including I think a Skinny Shaman (yep, I call dibs) that would be more in line with the N5 but longer. And if he didn't, well I hope he does now. I'd be ok calling it a Lil Shaman or Shaman Jr.

Great job on the chamfering. I've been too chicken to be as aggressive as you have which is why my results aren't near as good.

Re: Chaparral

XHP is still a great steel. And I picked up a Sun and Moon and I'm blown away how good it is and I already have the LW and Rafir version. I'm not opposed to MagnaCut but I don't see it as a necessity like I do with some other models.

Re: Extra Large Backlock Salt

I would really like to see a 4” salt knife. A Manix Xl lockback in Magnacut or a police would be great. A new model would be appreciated as well. I also think that Spyderco is missing a midsized salt knife but the coming Manix salt lightweight might fill that gap. I definitely want one. I'm a littl...

I'm a sucker for anything with a Wharnie blade. I was looking forward to this one but may have changed my mind (easy to say when it hasn't been released yet). My prediction is it won't happen until the factory expansion is completed.
