Re: Your running knife?
... But when I know I’m going to sweat like a pig, I reach for something in Cruwear or a salt. Those are two completely different choices, with no common characteristics apart from them both being steels ^^ The common characteristic is that I own them both and Cruwear is much less reactive for me t...

Re: Your running knife?
I got my fill of running cross country in high school. So I run with whatever knife I’m carrying when I have a legitimate reason to run. As in, away from something. But when I know I’m going to sweat like a pig, I reach for something in Cruwear or a salt.

Re: Show your Bugs and Critters
All I know is those bastards will cave in your hood when they decide to take flight across the road in front of you. Then get up, shake it off, and leave the scene. There were witnesses, otherwise I might have pulled over, got out the Fiskars X15, and served the fam roast fertilizer spreader.

Re: LeafJumper
They're 20°, like all the other Seki serrations. It's only the Golden ones that are now sub 15°. However, even at the more obtuse angle, this knife is a better slicer than the Magnacut N5, which is no slouch in that department. The K390 Leafjumper slices through my wife's unsolicited (and unopened)...

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?
Choils make sense to me only when the handle is too short for a full grip; so if you’re after a really compact knife for reasons, it makes sense. I’ve come down on the side of disliking them on any knife with a Spyderco hole/hump but they are more ergonomic on a knives like the Shaman where you can ...

Re: Corrosion Reports
The patina on my M4 Para3 started the same way, ugly and splotchy and M4 also pits quickly. All from a single day, running a chainsaw clearing debris from Hurricane Michael. I worked my my yard and three neighbors’ yards, cutting vines as needed to prepare the area for chainsaw work. You don’t want ...

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?
It’s not that I don’t understand the trends, it’s just that I don’t prefer so many. Horses for courses. That’s why there are so many choices.

Urban is pretty darn great. I’m reconnecting with my first Para3 in M4, it’s a fantastic knife.

A Leafjumper Salt would be nice. A Siren in MagnaCut of course, as well as a Goddard. And I’m eagerly waiting for a UKPK Salt in MagnaCut!!

Wow I’d have snagged one too if I’d seen that! It’s an intriguing little knife but normally it loses out to designs I think are tougher or rust proof.

Re: What you don't like about spyderco knives?
I don’t like the annual price hikes. Course, I don’t like my local grocery price hikes either! Cost of living is outpacing my pay. I also don’t like that Spyderco makes anything in China. I do my best not to buy it, but I’m not sure where else cbn stones could be sourced. There are enough models mos...

Re: What watch you're wearing?
A Seiko modder in Australia made it up for me with a Rolex case, bezel and dial. Being a watch guy it was a poke at the whole Rolex waiting list, limit supply games that are played nowadays. I appreciate the well deserved poke. I read up on those shenanigans, and aside from prohibitive price, I can...
