Are you wanting serrations or plain edge?
How thick are your gloves?
Is rust a worry factor for you?

Re: Edgeucation Letter question

I think those are basic production runs. I wouldn't expect any literature like you're describing. The closest thing i can think to what you're describing is an extra sheet talking about the blade steel for my V toku2 sprint run knife. It talked about how extra care is needed to keep the edge from ru...

Midnight blue sounds like a great color for that steel

Even better that it's on a police!

Re: Manix 2 H-1 + Pink Manix 2 Pictures

Based on what i've been hearing a manix 2 salt really doesn't sound that likely simply because of the cost of specializing the architecture. So much so that it would make the price a little too unappealing for too many people. It could either be made as a high end exclusive luxury item (think like a...

Re: Let's Get Serious: G-10 Handles Are Just Hard To Beat For EDC uses

I think G10 is classy, and I like G10 for that reason. But isn't FRN always going top be thinner? That would really benefit a knife like the PM3 that's kind of fat. I kinda remember Eric saying the dimensions for the P3 LW will be the same all around (lanyard hole and clip aside) as the regular Par...

Re: My first impressions with a Spyderco

If your knife has G10 than it should have phosphor bronze washers. They'll self polish as time goes by.
You may want to get some thin lube into the pivot.
I don't know how stiff a native is out of the box but i learned after the chaparral the risk of a dry pivot

Re: I don't like santokus and serrations !

I have yet to try any SE folder but i am curious about them. I'd probably want to get a sharp maker first though. As far as chef knives go though, I actually like 8 inch knives with a western belly (German beer gut lol). Even more so if their handle facilitates a pinch grip. I'm a fairly tall, un-fa...

Re: Warehouse knife

I open a fair amount of boxes and i tend to find my Dfly works for most of it but if i get worried about breaking the tip or something I'll switch to my lil native. If you need more blade or a bigger handle than me, Maybe look into a delica (or endura!) Warncliff. If you need something beefier than ...

G-10 is absolutely fantastic. No question when it comes to that at all.

But i also really like FRN. It's so grippy!

A Chaparral or Urban with a bone handle would be better than a Native, as far as I am concerned.
I recall mention of a bone handle Chap being a possibility. Usually the Chap is XHP though.
No reason a Native couldn't be done

^Custom scales? Looks amazing Adam! What are they made from? The back scales is stock. The show scale is shredded carbon fiber and copper. It works so well with the Chef! Are you going to let the copper patina? Yeah I think I will. I plan to order bronze screws from bladeswelove to match the colors...

Re: Hello, why do you guys like Spyderco?

For me it's all the previously posted reasons and more. Spyderco offers a massive variety of products for both use and maintenance, all designed with ease of use and reliability. You don't have to really think too much when you're using a spyderco, your hands just do the thing. They've managed to di...

Re: Which Spyderco Haunts You Most?

Aside from any sprint runs... I gotta go with the Brouwer. I know all the complaints everyone has and the price keeps me from pulling the trigger But oh man is it pretty to me. Completely functional, nothing too fancy, and it looks as unthreatening as possible. It's almost like something your euro g...

Sounds like some people here want an action expected from chris reeve. I can't say i blame them. I like glassy smooth.

Re: Why is having the blade drop closed such a big deal?

I can't deny the fiddle factor is there when it comes to a drop shut action but there is something to say about having a blade disappear with almost no effort. My chaparral will drop to the halfway mark before the Ricasso hits my finger. Than i close it the rest of the way. The difference is mere se...

If you're looking to get him a big beefy knife than you're on the right track. Any of those sound fantastic especially if he goes outdoors a lot. If he prefers something that's more slicey than maybe look at something like a Caly if you still want US made? But if he likes thinner blades than don't t...

Re: “Little knife for a week” challenge.

Already got you beat. V TOKU2 DFly. And a lil native for work. Chapparel LW on my off days. No bigger knife in my collection (yet) I genuinely don't need anything bigger when I'm working retail. I got smaller knives because of how much better they are than the stanley knives they have here. These tw...
