Thanks for the opportunity! Not sure if it counts, but my favorite is my Woodcraft Mule. The Native 5 is my favorite folder and I love how the Woodcraft Mule is shaped very similarly. If we're restricting this to the normal Mule team, I'm going with the Cruwear mule I just barely finished making a h...

Thanks, all! Pretty! The micarta pins are a nice touch. Thanks, Pockets. This is the second mule I've used micarta pins on and I really like them. I think they look great, and I like the fact that everything I'm sanding is equally hard. My first mule was Ipe (wood) with brass pins and I found I had ...

Thanks for the compliments. I did do a decent amount of sanding. Progressed up to 500 grit and then used black and then red rubbing compound with polishing wheels on my drill.

Cruwear Mule Finished!

Just finished making the handle for my Cruwear mule. For this one, I chose to use maroon linen micarta and black micarta pins. Pretty pleased with how it turned out. I was a little careless and there's a bite from my belt sander on the spine, but I'm not too worried about that since I plan on using ...

Military was the first thing that came to mind for me, too. Straight spine and a long blade.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm not a big fan of wire clips. I appreciate the aesthetic, but I find knives with wire clips harder to clip to my pocket one-handed. Not a deal-breaker for me, but enough to make me prefer an hourglass clip.

I don't hunt or fish, but I usually carry a fixed blade and a folder when I go camping. My fixed blade is my Woodcraft Mule and my folder varies. I prefer something easy to clean so usually a Military, Paramilitary 2, Manix 2, or Superleaf. Here's the Woodcraft Mule: http://s9.postimage.org/a4s9u8zt...

The Military with brown g10 is CTS-XHP. The M4 had a g10 scale and a titanium scale. I think thanks what Chuck was getting at re: brown M4 being hard to come by.

My Native 5 is like this as well. My Delica has some play, but the Native has zero.

This thread is degrading quickly. Exponentially from an epic announcement to a cacophony of rubbish. A stickied thread? Really?? Grow up. It might be a good time (for everyone) to check egos at the door and take a breather. That's generally how this place operates when we aren't fighting over...

I think by "black one comes both ways" he means that you can get a black Manix 2 that is regular production and there was also a limited production black Manix 2. If that is what you mean, tommybbq, then you are correct. The sprint run black Manix 2 was made with CTS-BD30P steel and has a ...

I think he what he means is that if the Y looks like a normal Y, then it's made in Seki. If it looks like a U on a stick, it's not made in Seki. All my Golden Spydies have the U on a stick and all my Seki Spydies havea V on a stick.

I second the less threatening comment. That's the main thing I like about brightly colored knives. However, I think Utah counts as a knife-friendly environment.

The Native 5 can be had for just over $100. It is an excellent knife and would be legal for you to carry based on that 3" blade length limit.

Thanks for the contest! 1. My first Spyderco was a Paramilitary 2. 2. My latest Spyderco was a Superleaf. 3. When I first was looking at knives, I thought all Spydercos looked ugly. After losing my Kershaw Shallot, I decided to replace it with a Spyderco just so I could see what all the hype was abo...
