very interesting pics. the opinel seems to hold up well. I wonder what stainless steel would duplicate the properties of carbon steel?
Would a carbon steel Manix be better than the s30v?

Hello DW!
clever idea. did you trace the spyder and cut it out or is that a punch? Mine is rather crude and needs to be redone. Looking to get a serrated Cricket someday. Take care.

I am trying to thin out the handles a bit, so here is what it looks like apart
washers are not PB, and I appreciate how the lock "self cleans" by pushing aside any dirt. Knife is very smooth, but I wonder if PB washers are available?

I plastidipped my SPOT. Its very comfortable so I would not bother adding scales to the handle from the factory. A simple basic sheath would be fine, with Tec Lok holes. Put the money in the steel, VG10 of SV30, I will buy it when it becomes available.

check for dirt in between the scales and lock bar, may be debris preventing full release. I wash mine off and it becomes easier to close after a days work. I also might suggest functioning the lock without lube to assist break in and perhaps remove any burrs there. IMHO, the comp lock is the absolut...

I havent tried this, but you could heat a cheap phillips and place it in the screw. this will soften up the red loctite making it easy to remove.

Yeah, I saw that bob tail mod, really makes the knife more compact, but I like to use the tail to goose my dogs! :D The Temp mod has really changed the knifes charecter. more pocketable maintaining the nice grip. I want to thin the grips some more. Has anyone completly taken apart the Temp. How did ...

Dodo and Lil Temp mods

I have been reaching for the Dodo as an EDC every day now, and decided to remove the "belly" and keep the bill. Probably the most often used blade I have. The lil Temp has been a drawr queen until recently. I prefer carrying without a clip but all the lockbacks get filled with pocket lint....
