Re: Tax day MAP sale!

Not sure I get it yet, but I'm curious.
The MAP is the price that everyone else charges?
And everyone else provides free shipping?

Will there be knives for sale that aren't available elsewhere?
Yes? No? Unknown?

Re: Experienced Serrated Edge K390 users wanted.

I have three K390 knives with serrated edges, which have seen heavy to light usage. I just examined one under magnification. There is a lot of inconsistency of the serration tips, indicating wear through use. I don't consider this a problem, and would expect to see similar wear on any serrated knif...

when you think of Porsche, you think of a 911

Not around here we don't.
When someone mentions Porsche, the only one that comes to mind is the 718 Spyder.

Re: Is there a quintessential Spyderco?

Yeah, sort of. To me, the quintessential Spyderco styling is evident in the lightweight Delica/Endela/Endura/Police knives. They have the handle, blade, lock, and ergonomics, that shout, "Spyderco!" The primarily differences are the size of each knife. But from afar, they look alike. What...

There have already been some nice suggestions my thoughts go towards an entry level Manix 2 Lwt . Hey, Joelc73 , I've got to agree here. The Manix 2 is very different with its caged ball bearing lock. It's super easy to use one handed, and is good in either the right or left hand. The blade is usef...

Stop being a tease. For a moment I was all excited thinking
Tom Hanks might have landed a role playing Nicolaus Otto.

Re: Forum Update/Maintenance & Move - PLEASE READ

I just discovered the BEST feature of the new Forum Update. We no longer need to futz around resizing images before we upload them!!! We can just upload the images as they are, no muss, no fuss. This is going to be GREAT for mobile phone users who might not have image editing tools at their fingert...

Re: Happy Easter!... And your carry today - ?

I'm carrying the same knife that I've been carrying for many weeks, a Stretch 2 XL in Cruwear. There's nothing fancy about it, it's just an all-around awesome knife. And in the spirit of the holiday, I'll share with you a picture of a sociopathic bunny named Bun Bun who carries a switchblade. I can...

You guys got me curious about forum speeds on mobile devices. I browsed on over to the form using Safari on my iPhone. The speeds were fast, equal to what I get on my desktop computer. Then I tried the Firefox browser, and the results were the same. No problems from Behind The Orange Curtain.

Re: How Shelac is made

I don't know if it is durable enough for a knife handle that would get used. It isn't like lacquer or polyurethane. Still, it would look really good. I know! But it's so "old school" that it's hard to resist. Most of my wood projects are finished in natural finishes: linseed oil, tung oil...

Thanks. That video has been in my YouTube suggestions, but I didn't watch it until just now. I like the Business Insider videos. Shellac intrigues me, but I've not used it on anything since I was a little kid. How do you think it would work out on wood scales for my next Mule?

[img]Our first bloom ! Dan Very nice. That one doesn't waste any time between poking up from the dirt and flowering. I shot some flowers in the yard last week. This one is my favorite. Re: "Delica" the Tip of a Mule 2?

I have one SPY27 OG Mule, but it's not in the field. It's in the kitchen. It's my go-to when I want a small knife. I have a couple other Mules that could assume that role, but there's nothing not-to-like about the SPY27.

Microserrated blades are not my cuppa tea. just these are my serrated knives and my experience with them you could give anyone and they'd never have to sharpen it. You mind elaborating on why you dislike small serrations That's ok if they work well for you and you like them. You asked for our opini...

Microserrated blades are not my cuppa tea.
I need a plain edge for most things, and normal serrations when the need calls for it.
