Re: 2022 Reveal — Stovepipe Thread C260TIP
Hopefully one of the Spyderco crew can let us know whether it has a steel lockbar insert. David hasn’t responded either way on his Instagram.

You could really have fun texturizing that “handle” 2/3rds of the slabs.

Re: 2022 Reveal — Stovepipe Thread C260TIP
Per BladeHQ: Meet the Spyderco Stovepipe, inspired by custom knifemaker David Rydbom's "Bill the Butcher" design. This unique offering, made in Taiwan, is built to last and perform exceptionally. Among its stand-out features is the dual-role of its oversized pivot, which also prevents lock...

2022 Reveal — Stovepipe Thread C260TIP
Wow! Didn’t see this coming. Love David’s designs. Can’t tell if this one has a lockbar insert given the pictures, and the description doesn’t indicate one way or the other.

My Sage M4 exclusive from BHQ is phenomenal. Best of the ~50 comp lock Spydercos that I’ve opened.

Re: PM2 cruwear micarta
Got one. Bummer that mine has a crunchy lock. Seems like half of my PM2s/3s do. I don’t understand how they haven’t worked that out yet.
Other than that, it’s nice.

Re: Anyone else concerned?
Not too concerned. I mean, who does it better? That said, I’d like to see the Caribbean back in stock, with a refined pivot and detent. And a Spydiechef 2 with a steel lockface insert like the Swayback. Maybe some more Slysz designs. Maybe something with past collaborators like Jens Anso. Would be c...

Re: Caribbean Sprint(ish)?!
I had one and returned it because of a super weak detent. Haven’t seen new ones at dealers this year. I hope the detent is addressed and the pivot is changed as was the Kapara’s.
At this point it’d be nice if they just made the standard version available again.

Re: Spyderco Caribbean hardware question
I bought a new pre-CQI one from a dealer last November and returned it. First time returning a Spyderco in 30-something years. The detent was so large as to allow the blade to move up and down about 2mm, and it could be shaken open easily. Weird. I’m really hopeful that the CQI ones fix the detent, ...

I wanted this until I learned it’s made in Japan. Was really unhappy with the BHQ Lum Tanto quality, and not wanting a repeat performance. Bummer.
