Re: USA made models,...
Southerner- If you are making inferences about sales based off of amazon reviews, wouldn't it also be fair to infer that people would be less likely to buy better models from amazon, and more likely to buy from trusted retailers therefore skewing your conclusion to bias your argument?

Re: Manix 2 51200
For those who don't understand the allure of patina, should look into the concept of wabi-sabi. Of course, in our culture exists an inordinate amount of pretense, hence the "pre-ripped jeans" phenomenon. But assigning an ethos to someone who has an interest, but not necessarily a need, for...

idk WHAT the **** Pilot-Iroshizuku Yama Budo is Haha, no worries! It's a Japanese fountain pen ink, a deep, vivid magenta. yama budo.jpg Not my image. It's difficult to describe colors sometimes, I find it easiest just to refer to specific inks. Haha I Google'd it after I commented  Sounds li...

Re: Smock
I know this is blasphemous to say, but I don't like CF :( if I could get aftermarket scales, I'd be on this like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm. I am looking at this knife and the camel bone slabs i have at home just waiting to be turned into scales and see a match made in heaven :)...

Re: More Urban Sprints Please
I'm sniffin what you're stepping in ;) idk WHAT the **** Pilot-Iroshizuku Yama Budo is, but I'd love a non stainless sprint. I don't have an urban yet, but as an edc knife it is pretty much ideal. I love my manix s110v lw, but in most situations it seems to be overkill and I tend to use my ladybug i...

Wouldn't a soldering gun be good for direct heat to the screw? And I've seen the Dremel suggestion before, cutting in a groove for a flat head screwdriver.

Have you called spyderco customer service? You can also email but last time I did that it took them a month to respond. But I hear calling yields quicker responses.

Re: What two years of abuse on a PM2 by a stone mason looks like...
I'll say up front, this thing has been through **** and back. Fell on stones, sliced into metal accidentally, etc etc. I haven't performed any maintenance on it since I got the m390 pm2 a while back but it saw daily HARD use, and with some proper sharpening it would keep going again no problem. It ...

I take it to mean an edge that is generally useful, but not impractical to maintain under reasonable conditions.

It's not the wrong tool if it's lasted 2 years and is still functional.

Re: Spyderco Alcyone, a great job
Better jimping, beautiful g10, USA steel... those alone worth $20 easy imo but there might be more as I haven't bought one yet, and don't plan to own a tenacious.zhyla wrote:Anyone here that can compare these with the Tenacious? What’s my extra $20 buying me other than some prettier G-10?

Re: Spyderco Alcyone, a great job
I'm going to have to snag one just for the handle material. I also like that it has US steel for a small price bump over the tenacious. Thanks for this design Sal, she's purty.
