Ladybug VG10 FFG

Why is this not offered as a standard production option? I know you can get this one FFG in ZDP and all sprint variations, but the standard Ladybugs are mostly hollow ground, unlike the ManBug. For those of you that have and use Ladybugs, do you see much a difference in performance between the hollo...

Re: K390 fans rejoice!

I’d go for a TiCN Dragonfly and Delica. Midnight Blue or Dark Maroon FRN. Do we have any info stating if this run will be clad or solid?

Re: FRN Jester Sprint Input Needed

I would love to see this come back in FRN and LC200N but I would take anything at this point!

Exactly. Leave the ricasso alone. It works perfectly as a choil, without catching on things. Buy a different knife is what I’d suggest. Just my opinion.

I use the ricasso on my Delicas all the time without any issue! Maybe we should be calling this knife the “Baby Jazz” ;)

Re: Delicafly

Has anyone actually put a dragonfly blade on a delica? Just wondering... I did for the photo in the first post. It technically functions but there is a lot of slop in the blade and lock bar as things don’t match up correctly. You also have to use the Dragonfly pivot hardware as the Delica’s will no...

Re: Delicafly

Knives are usually judged partially on how much blade can be squeezed into a handle. I 100% agree with you on this one. It seems the majority of people focus on the blade to handle ratio and prefer knives that are as close to 1:1 as possible. This has never been a major factor for me which is why I...

Re: Delicafly

So many of these threads can be solved by just buying a cheap belt grinder and going for it. You can make a stubby Delica right now, today. It will take about 5 minutes with an 80 grit belt and a cup of cold water to dip the blade in. Unfortunately, not everyone has the equipment, confidence, skill...

Re: Delicafly

WHY do "some people prefer small blades with larger handles" would have been the better way to ask. I find that I can complete almost every EDC task i come across with a blade the size of the Dragonfly. If I’m doing food prep I use a kitchen knife when home or an Opinel I have at my offic...

Re: Delicafly

It’s certainly an interesting concept, I was just thinking to myself that carrying a smaller blade might be useful, but I really dislike the handle on the Dragonfly. This would be a nice mixture. I don’t mind the handle on the dragonfly but the Delica gives me more purchase and feels more hand fill...

The Kahr version of the Delica is pretty close to what you sugest.

True but this would be a true wharncliffe and FFG. I much prefer the look of the dragonfly blade to the Kahr blade

I can understand the reason for wanting something like this. However it would have limited appeal.

Yea I feel something like this design would appeal a lot to a few people, and very little to the majority of users..

Re: Delicafly

DF2 already fits my hand much better than the Del4 because of the choil. I'm not sure trading up to a Del4 handle would be an improvement at all, at least for me... I agree, I love having a choil when using a knife with a smaller blade. I feel like it gives you a lot of good control over the blade

Re: Delicafly

Knivesplus could do that for you by modifying a delica wharncliffe. Similar to the kahr arms delica but ffg and much more wharncliffe-y This is true but I think it would be cool to see this come from Spyderco without the need to modify an existing knife. Your suggestion is probably the most feasibl...

Why
Like you said, legal restrictions

Because some people’s hands might be larger and fit better on a Delica handle

Because some people prefer small blades with larger handles

Because a longer handle can give you more leverage over the small wharncliffe blade

Because Spyderco can hah

Delicafly

I got to thinking how useful the larger handle of the Delica might be on the dragonfly wharncliffe blade. If Spyderco were to make this a model would anyone be interested? Obviously there would have to be design tweaks to make the blade and handle mesh better but the photo gives you an idea of what ...

Re: EDC, or rotation?

I carry a dragonfly at work, and on weekends I rotate through my other Spydies. I will occasionally rotate in a knife from a different brand, but always go back to Spyderco.
