Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
I think the way the C-60 was designed makes it a great utility knife, even though I've never owned one. Especially in SE, with the angle the blade is in relation to the handle. I wish I'd gotten an original back when they were part of the lineup. Jim Jim I've been EDCing one of my 2011 Sprint Run C...

Re: Thank You Spyderco !
I said it before and will say again - this run was a gift to your customer base, and we appreciate the decision to do it. I'm sure somewhere along the way, someone pointed out, "It's likely the release will crash the site, it's likely we'll receive harsh criticism during the process, and it wil...

i guess i'm going to start out with a paracord wrap and no sheath. maybe i'll just carry it around open for a bit. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/hq7Eeu8PqYzL3BaqK8vKmTPjuVYs8hIZxUa6NbC6aTHO12gsDLJzawczyZKiCPxlTNg3BDnJN8_RSDONzAhmkNv0caQ4VA5aXcxohJ8qdr08Mtzy8PbNZthiY5ejRkAxKM7MfivMmrtmeMIu...

Re: Show your Mule
3rd lanyard use so back hole is at the lanyard point. So one at back and one at front. Larger gap in between, so could get away with some contouring on the Micarta. Lanyard hole can be used and front hole and back can be used to tie to a stick for spear. I didn't even put that together... makes sen...

Re: Show your Mule
How do you decide which pin holes to use? Love that you mix it up, but wondering what drives the decision.

In the spirit of joining in: Received my Mule today and immediately put it to work. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/323472378015383552/918263174543867914/image0.jpg Moved the scales to the MagnaCut Mule and set to it with the Sharpmaker. Tried to set a 15/20 compound bevel on it using diamond...

Re: MT35P - CPM MagnaCut Mule Team - Release Date
the lack of perspective, let alone appreciation, demonstrated by some of the accounts posting within this thread in particular reaffirms why haven't bothered participating much over the years... lord Be the change you want to see in the world. Like anything these days, I think this is another case ...

Re: Mule email
If you haven't received the "MT35P - Mule Team Order -- order processing is taking a little longer than usual" email from Spyderco it's probably in your Spam folder like mine was (just checked)! As far as I can tell, not everyone received an email. I had shipping info and just received my...

Re: Not fun
If by "rather contrived set of overly negative assumptions," you mean the exact scenario that played out with the Crucarta Shaman and other multi-distributor sprint runs, then sure.

Wow, Sal didn't even give a guess what steels they were.

Re: Not fun
It would frustrate me to no end to see Mule Teams released through DLT, Knife Joy, Knife Center, etc. all at different UNANNOUNCED times, with no limit on purchase, at double the price. If there's anything worse than missing one drop, it's missing 5 much smaller drops over the course of 3 days from ...

Re: Mule team - preorder
Reality has been accepted. For the record, I've never endorsed pre sales. I think Sal hit the nail on the head when he said in another thread the answer is to produce 20% more than immediate demand. As for not making money, that's the easiest of all. Just charge more. I think the better thought to ...

Re: Not fun
No, as long as it is "limited" they can prey on the "fear of missing out". This run was 2000 pieces, more than three times as many as usual, and it was a total panic logjam. The only solution to flippers is to remove exclusivity. If it is going to continue to be available at reg...

Re: Mule team - preorder
I'm not sure why other steels are being suggested at this point. Magnacut clearly is in demand. Why not make more of that? There was excess demand for SPY-27, and Z-Max, and S45VN. There's 3 other steels already planned before Magnacut which haven't been released yet. From our best guesses - Spyder...

Re: MT35P - CPM MagnaCut Mule Team - Release Date
I've got my 2 on the way. I must say that it was a terrible user experience and completely frustrating for over an hour before it went through. That said, I am also very glad and appreciative of Sal and all the gang at Spyderco to give us the opportunity to get our hands on this new steel so we can...

Re: Magnacut Mule!!!
Is the mule magna cut a part of the first melt or a second melt? If the second melt, we’re there any differences in the processing of the steel? I heard the first melt contained actual Larrin tears of stress and worry. There's a rumor he dropped a pair of his signature nerd glasses in the melt when...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
This showed up today... And it's everything I knew it would be. It's an ergonomic marvel. I'm really surprised another company hasn't taken this idea and ran with it. I am however, a little bit concerned about the serration geometry, and I really hope the upcoming version can be done in a much more...

Re: Magnacut Mule!!!
If that's the case, what is everyone drooling over this steel for?? Because of how stainless it is? That edge retention is shockingly low, considering the hype of this steel, being comparable to " plain old, boring, I don't like it, I'll never buy a knife in..S30V" Yet I've seen MANY of t...

Re: Magnacut Mule!!!
I feel good about this one. As per the Magnacut Pole there are only 470 pieces "spoken for." If this run produces 1500 as suggested, then there are 1030 pieces up for grabs. That's lots! I totally get why 470 of 500 would disappear in 6 minutes. But this time it is going to be different. ...
