I found it's quite simple. Although we all know about the Spyderco quality, certain knives turn on certain on people. I can appreciate what you're going through, as I feel that way about certain blade shapes, and sometimes I "get it" later on.

You can either the screw in type with a hook, or just buy 1/8" brass rod and cut them to length and push them into the board. If you use a depth gauge to get the holes the same length, it's no problem to just precut the rod to all the same length.

The Stare,
I've found my Calypso Jr. is quite sturdy, but I save it, or my Calypso, for dress use. The Micarta handles are really nice, and It bothers me when I scratch them.
I stick with FRN, G10, and Stainless for EDC.

I have a board with 1/8" pins on my wall that houses my current knives with room for quite an addition. The board holds about 30. Its an easy way to keep track of them, and makes it 'easyier' (if thats possible) to select for daily changes to carry preference.

Mine is about the same as my other Spyderco's. Lock's up solid ! Unlocks ith the same amount of pressure - no worry about premature release of any of my locks.

My mechanism was smooth but had some resistance. I think most of the resistance was due to the choil (if I get my terms right) rubbing on the inside of the scale when closing. It may have aslo rubbed during the opening as well. After a few evenings watching TV, the complete opening/closing cycle was...

I didn't have to do anything other than cycle mine, and it's very smooth.

I cannot compare the Spydercard to the others you mention, because I've not been able to get my hands on them, but my Spydercard is 5.03mm overall width, and the blade is 2.22mm. Fits quite comfortably in my wallet and you wouldn't even know its there. There are other discussions of the card in this...

I have noticed that while the stainess scales on my Endura II and Calypso Jr. II are smoother, I tend to be more careful with the way I grip them during use. In a hunting or other rigorus activity I would probably use the FRN or G10. But, I really like the look of the stainless for city use. Can't w...

I have repaired knives in this fashion as well. But for all that work, I found that that Spyderco does a better job with less effort on my part.

Send it in to the warrenty guys. For a small fee they will re-grind the blade, to a remove the damaged area, giving a slightly shorter length, which should give you a stonger tip. At least that's what they did with my Endura II.

It rides in the wallet quite well, just waiting for an opportunity to prove itself.
I've only used mine a couple of times, and I really like it.
It fits in with the rest of my Spyderco's.

What would I do ? What I did, was carry on ! - I expained to the folks in a note that I did not use the knife and received it damaged, and although having my new-unused knife repaired upset me, I carry it daily, in cycle with my Calypso Jr. - In my case my knife is now a bit shorter, but so what ! I...

I have Bucks, Gerbers, Cold Steel and others. Excellant knives.
However, what do I carry - Spyderco . Just something about that round hole, and the overall quality feel to the knives.... not hard to appreciate !

It is most unfortunate that people cannot see or understand the beauty of this little knife. When I first got my hands on 1, said WOW !. Ever since then I have enjoyed showing them off to interested friends. It appears, as well, that there are still a lot of people out there that would rather compla...
