Re: Spyderco Closed Due to Inclement Weather
I hope you all weathered the blizzard okay! Cheers from mostly-overcast-but-slightly sunny California.

Re: Who loves their Pochi, and why?
The Pochi is small which makes it legal in more places, and it has low intimidation factor thanks to that small size and its adorable design. I love mine :D

My googly-eyed Amalgam has a new companion! The Pochi is absolutely adorable, and the perfect googly eye candidate.

Re: Spyderco "Hyker"
Nice mods! I always love to see examples of people personalizing knives and making them truly their own. Well done!

Re: MantraMantraMantra
I tend to like standard flipper tabs because they serve as a guard but also because I like the idea of having a safety in the unlikely event of lock failure (I'm paranoid). Also, my hands are small enough that the flipper on the Mantra 1 and 2 don't interfere with my grip. Oddly enough though, the s...

Re: MantraMantraMantra
man I wish the 1 and 2 were still around. The 3 doesn't do it for me at all. Half a dozen 2s on the Bay at the moment. eh as much as I like that shape, I like thumb opening more. Yup, that's why I'm so happy to have gotten my hands on a 1. I enjoy being able to place my thumb further up on the spin...

Re: MantraMantraMantra
Good point about the slimness. Makes me think the Mantra 2 would be quite suitable for a front flipper configuration, especially since the stop pin is internal.

Re: MantraMantraMantra
Great thread! Mantra 1 is one of my favourites. I bought two backups after I found out they were discontinued 20201023_132200_copy_3024x1701.jpg I'm also now keeping my eye out for another Mantra 1, because I expect I'll be pocketing mine quite frequently and would love a backup before they become ...

MantraMantraMantra
The design so nice I bought it thrice. Okay, fine I only bought it twice. I got the Mantra 2 from a Meet, purchased a Mantra 3 for my compression lock flipper collection, then finally hunted down a Mantra 1 to complete my Mantra collection. I just got the Mantra 1 in the mail today, and boy oh boy d...

Re: Why are so many people concerned with perfect blade centering?
My take on this is that Spyderco has many models that seem to me to be more geared towards using than as aesthetic/design/machining showpieces. For the working models, as long as the blade doesn't rub, I'd be happy. The "fancier" the knife gets though, the more I expect from the aesthetics...

Re: Liner Steel Question
I've always been curious about liner corrosion and material. It's one of the reasons the Salts intrigue me so much, as everything needs to be super corrosion resistant. And dang Vivi! Seems like if any knives ever need stress testing in terms of corrosion resistance, you and Lance are the prime test...

Re: Spyderco Worker appreciation
Hi Gundamaniac, Good find. It is fact a 2nd generation Worker. Still had the sharpened swedge that dropped below the scale when folded. You could open the blade a small bit using the hole and cut a piece of string with the swedge. we needed 3 screws to hold the clip firm and a thicker scale gave th...

Re: Any interest in the return of integral comp locks?
I''m interested! Mainly because I haven't handled one before and I'm curious about the ergos in use and whether the lock area would rub the thumb or the webbing around the thumb noticeably.
