I'm rather predictable these days.

Fish were caught, though today was very slow.

Re: Para 3 LW Spy27 vs. Delica 4 K390

K390 will resist corrosion a bit better than M4, but the difference isn't anything to write home about. That said I'd recommend the K390 Delica over the Para 3 lightweight, the Delica is to me a much more ergonomic knife. Another potential option would be a KnifeJoy exclusive Delica in 20CV blade st...

Re: Ok, there's something magic about 15V...

I definitely agree, the sharpening response of 15V is very good. Comes up SHARP much faster than its volume of vanadium carbide might suggest (though keep in mind I'm using all diamond abrasives with it so that helps). Also keep in mind that I reprofile high carbide volume steels of all sorts for fu...

Re: Is the PM2 too big for my tiny hands or not?

You'll be fine with the PM2. My hands are about 3 inches across the knuckles with my hand held out flat and the PM2 fits in my hands just fine. I would call the PM2 about the perfect size for a pocket knife, but I guess that depends on what you're used to. The Para 3 is a good knife, but I wouldn't ...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Got this Inkosi Insingo in a few days ago, been really enjoying it. Took some patience to find a left handed one, and as a bonus it's a new one in MagnaCut. Bit beefier than what I usually carry, but the Inkosi is just so cool and well made. It's a fun change of pace for me. https://photos.smugmug.c...

Re: Tip of folding knife is exposed and cuts me

The screw looks OK for a G10 Native 5. Will need some non-trivial blade modifications to get the tip back below the scales, but it can be done. Maybe time for a new one, and maybe also some questions about how it's been sharpened. That's a lot of steel to remove to get to that point far as the tip b...

Gonna need something very stainless and used to getting dirty for tonight's shift... S110V PM2 is just right for this.

After all, why not? Why wouldn't I carry two CPM 15V knives on a snowy day?

You'll have to pardon the oil/finger smudges on the blades.

Re: Maxamet sharpening is no joke.

Diamonds are your friend when it comes to Maxamet. Be a bit careful with the coarse grits, just touch the edge with the scratch pattern, then apex and deburr with the finer grits. I reprofiled both a Para 3 and a PM2 in Maxamet and spent I think 45 minutes or so on each one. https://photos.smugmug.c...

Re: What knife steel and handle are best for cold weather high altitude hiking?

Unless things are going to get very damp, I carry whatever steel I want while hiking without worry.

Here's some 15V at about 10,000ft elevation.
