Re: Who uses Sharpmaker exclusively?

I cannot say exclusively, but exclusive for some knives, I use the wicked edge for setting the angle and reprofiling, and sharpmaker for touch ups, tho for my microtech ultratech, it cannot clamp into my wicked edge without the small knives attachment, so I sharpen that only on the sharpmaker, and d...

Re: Spyderco p4 praise

Actually, cruwear is one steel I've been wanting to try, along with maxamet, tho I've been told maxamet is chippy, it can't be worse then cpms110v which I've had to sharpen chips out of multiple times, tho it could be said I chipped 110v due to user error, it's chipped doing my usual daily habits, a...

Re: best steel?

I'd agree with the others who said blade symmetry matters more then steel type, steel type I've been using lately is k390, that stuff is tough and holds a razor sharp edge longer then anything else I've used, and isn't chippy like alot of other high carbon tool steels or semi stainless steel and sta...

Re: Spyderco p4 praise

Wow sal thanks for the welcome and it's truly an honor to have your acknowledgment! Also I edc this knife and it just seems to kick everything out of my pocket, I don't even feel like I need another knife, it's tough enough, strong enough and cuts good enough that it really can stand alone without ...

Re: Spyderco p4 praise

You can for sure count me in on a frn p4, I really like the idea of the p4 frn, it's always so grippy and comfortable in hand at the same time, I'm about to buy a 2nd p4 g10 just to save and keep to have a nice perfect one stashed away

Re: Maintaining factory edge.

Also, I'm not an expert but I've gotten way sharper knives using the sharpmaker then the lanskys, just my experience tho, I'd say 50$- shoot for lanskys, 50-100$+ is go sharpmaker with some diamond rods 200$+ edge pro or wicked edge go or kme, I used to always suck at free handing but if your good a...

Re: Maintaining factory edge.

As somebody who loves the sharpmaker, I'd suggest getting something to be able to rebevel your blade, weather it's sharpmaker with diamond rods or cbn rods, or a lansky system with diamonds (which may be the cheapest) and also these will both give that fresh factory edge look, more so lanskys tho

Re: Spyderco p4 praise

Sjucaveman it has an amazing feel and locks into my hand very well, I've never had the feeling it would twist or slip if this answers your question.
And I don't do CPR, I use it to redirect lightning tho to recessitate them xD

Re: Spyderco p4 praise

Vivi I have a feeling you will like it especially if you like the police 3, Spyderco really uped their game with this one. Also anything more with k390 would be amazing, I'd really like a delica or pm2/3, I've also heard about a frn police 4, hopefully that will also have k390, it's already such a l...

Re: Suspected P4 fake?

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but you can easily tell that is fake by the finger choil, the choil even goes into the steel liners and g10 and into the blade, it isn't even a franken p4, it'd have to be a an older police model, but described as a p4 I'd assume it fake

Spyderco p4 praise

I cannot say enough good about the p4, the k390 is wonderful stuff, tough enough for the thin blade, holds a razor sharp edge for a lot longer then most steels I've used, isn't chippy like s110v (in my experience), and the blade is even less thick then one of my favorites the pm2, so it slices like ...
