Lum Blade stamp issue

Hey folks, it's been a while. I noticed something odd on my Lum Chinese a while after getting it back from being sharpened by Spyderco. Parts of the Lum maker's mark look like they have been worn off, both on the letters and the characters. It looks like whatever ink/coating was on there got rubbed ...

The SuperHawk has one of my all time favorite :spyder: handles. They could put a butter knife on one of those and I would probably buy two.

No, I didn't get it. I got distraced by a discounted Lum (one of the newer ones) and in my hesitation the Cento got away. Next time.

JD, the catalog says VG-10. Nothing crazy, but it's fine enough for me given that a fancy steel + the CF handles might drive the price up too high.

They're great. I want to snag one of the foliage green ones before they're all gone.

I have a Swamp Rat Mini-Mojo and I like it. Also, the Fallkniven A1 is a very nice knife. Don't have one, but I've been impressed every time I've seen one.

Favorite of all time? I'm just going to point at one of the 7 lying next to me on the couch and we'll take that as my answer. Looks like it's a black SE Tasman Salt!

Not to hijack, but can anyone comment on the relative tip strength of each model? Specifically the third compared to the first two. Thanks.

Sal, is Howard the only one because of lack of interest in the design, or do custom makers find it difficult to use?

Honestly, whatever Spyderco thinks is the best solution for the individual knife. I see absolutely no reason to laminate VG-1 with 420J, as the the two steels are already similar enough in general. It looks like marketing to me, and as gaj999 pointed out, any strength gains on a folder would be negl...

From a BF thread regarding the Bison Prototype: Eric's "Resiliance" is about the same length in the blade, but not as thin as the Police. It's part of the "Tenacious" / "Persistence" family. Laci's new model is a 5.0" blade. Emphasis added. 5" Szabo model. Hol...
