I think we need a poll on whether we should serrate the holes for skinning hot dogs?

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

i meant to mention lock rock in my other post about keeping the knife, because i saw it come up as an issue... i've not used the knife hard yet, but i opened it up and put a little pressure on the spine with no movement. i pressed the blade down into a stack of paperwork to simulate the force requi...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Thanks, Beau. Looks like you've kept the clip tip down. Have you tried tip up or any intention to try it? Those were "out of the box" photos. I've already swapped the clips to tip up. I wasn't expecting the Phillips-head clip screws. https://i.imgur.com/boVFlYg.jpg Thanks. So you prefer i...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

I just got back from the SFO. Your blade angle change assumption seems correct to me. Like the blade was held in one position and placed up on the grind wheel, so all the teeth are parallel along the edge. They didn't follow the edge with the wheel, if any of that makes sense. This sounds right. It...

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?

I'm a bit concerned with the delay. Spyderco is usually the front runner in releasing new blade steels and they're late to the party with this one. Hopefully whatever the hold up is gets resolved soon. I know they have our best interests in mind and don't want to release something they don't feel i...

Re: What types of material do you cut the most?

Working as an on site project manager for a general contractor and running heavy equipment fairly often, my knives get used all day. Breaking down lots of banding/packaging/straps, cutting hoses and belts. Probably my second most used tool. First being tied with my pencil and my flashlight, third b...

I wouldn't generalize about 'knife people' based on Ebay nor based on one anecdote.

Nice! The BL LN is great. Mine is SE and i use it a lot.

Seems like an under-appreciated model and could use a REX 45 sprint.

I have two CQI 1 versions. Neither have any such issues. They are more like... "dang, is that a CRK?" build quality. I'd also suggest not flicking at all or fidgeting a Chef too much. Eta... if i bought one like that i would return it. Interesting...I'm hearing different things from every...
