Found a way to fund this gem blade, and a dealer in Germany (zero risk for me) that sells it at a price below my ultimate pain threshold.

Re: Two questions to Sal about aluminium scales
Blade HQ exclusives are a bad yardstick for figuring out what stuff "costs". I've got a bunch and the pricing has been near or even under the production version. For a small batch, better steel, exclusive handle that doesn't add up. My opinion is they use their exclusives as loss leaders ...

Re: Urban G10 replacement scales
Vaporpuffin? https://www.vpcreations.co.uk/ Thanks! A quick check only returned a backspacer for the Urban... They do more than the website shows. I went to see them in the workshop. I am getting about a dozen handles with them in the coming month, so I will let you know how it goes. If I don't rep...

Re: Two questions to Sal about aluminium scales
Spyderco gravitated away from aluminum handles years ago. That leads me to suspect the negatives, like ease of cosmetic damage, outweigh the positives. Which makes me wonder if both the choice of material and choice of texture may have been BHQ's . Could be. Both materials and techniques might howe...

Re: Two questions to Sal about aluminium scales
It would be, if both FRN and aluminium were produced in the same quantities. Which I doubt.
I hope Sal can take the blur away a little.

Two questions to Sal about aluminium scales
Dear Sal, I'm referring to the BHQ exclusives. Q1: comparing them to G10 and FRN, where are costs for material & production of aluminium scales? I know costs are business internal, I don't expect that you share figures. Just an orientation would be totally ok, if you can. You do not need moulds ...

Re: Spyderco 2022 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming
I really hope there will be more/other Spydies with these nice looking colors and aluminium scales. Those look darn good, and though I have not yet held them yet, I bet they feel good, too!

Re: What is your oldest (earliest) Spyderco ?
Here's mine, a Pacific Salt. I joined this forum in 2015 to find out if it was genuine, because it has no :bug-red-white edged/lasered to the blade, and I was happy to learn that apparently some Spydies got their trademark bug only at a later point in time: SmartSelect_20220313-110649_Gallery.jpg Sm...

Re: Urban Damasteel Sprint lookout thread
Dear Sal,
A Squeak run sounds like a very cool idea! As to pattern: having multiple models all with the same pattern sounds a bit boring, even if it is a beautiful one. Diversity wins.

Re: Urban Damasteel Sprint lookout thread
Bad timing. I'm gonna have to pass. No more funds this month.
It was going to be a slim chance anyway.
Next chance for a Damasteel Spydie in 5-10 years.........

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Well, I received my brand new Native 5 in G10. This should be the linerless version, but I received the S35VN and linered version, just the one I had back then ! edit : Date code dates it to January 2016, must've been a really, really late return or they found it fallen behind a shelf. They sell on...
