I would love one too but it’s a difficult market for Spyderco to be competitive in.

The fact I can get an 18” Tramontina WITH sheath for $20 from Lowe’s supports this statement.

Using the eBay “sold” search, I found one that fetched $950 4 days ago. It’s going to be quite the niche market for a collectors piece 35 year old knife in that price range. That seems like an exceptional price but depending on condition, it still comes down to whatever someone’s willing to pay.

In the spirit of this forum I’m going to recommend a different knife — does the Native not work due to lack of liners? It checks all you boxes except that one. I’m also from Tennessee and really do love the Cutlery Shoppe orange — they nailed it. A fully serrated XHP Military 2 would be something I’m ordering immediately.

I could definitely see a serrated Salt being ideal for through hiking the PCT, AT, whatnot… keep a small ceramic stone on hand to keep the edge crisp and I’d never need another knife. Now for actual bushcrafting in areas with limited trail improvements and no campsites you can’t replace a nice solid...

I’ve bought from Dack before and ordered the Salt Stretch this time. It’ll take a little while but I have no doubt they’ll deliver. Now to forget about it for a month.

Pick a model, any model; if the specs are off a tenth of an inch this is the crew to catch you.

Finally, a word of advice: if you are new at disassembling Seki City knives (like me), maybe just maintain it without disassembly.
