It really is a one of a kind thing (having Super Blue in a modern folder (especially a Spyderco), at least so far. I'm pretty sure, however, that I recall seeing some Super Blue, or at least other Blue steel folders available in Japan. But none of them have the ergonomics and functionality of a Spyd...

One thing I wish is that the clip would be black instead of shiny silver stainless but that is a relatively minor issue.

I've got the M390 Mule. I really like the steel a lot. I would go so far as to say it is one of the best stainless steels I have yet used. It takes a great edge and has very good edge retention. It is a pleasure to cut with.

As I understand it, what makes it special is the ore is made from iron sands in a region of Japan that was the same that was used to make Samurai swords in ancient times. The other thing is that instead of being pure carbon steel, it has some added elements that increase corrosion resistance and edg...

Time seems to be rushing by pretty quickly to me. :( I bet next spring will arrive sooner than you may think. :)

Pre-ordered two with credit card and got confirmation with order number. This should be a mighty fine Military.

I thought the Para 2 handle was too big in relation to the blade when I first got one as well. But after a few days, I got used to it and began to really appreciate the ergonomics. Now I think it is the best knife I've ever had in every respect. I do wonder whether they could have squeezed another 1...

If I ever feel the need to disassemble my Para 2 for cleaning, is it any harder to put back together than an Endura 4? They are easier to put back together than an Endura 4 as long as you don't separate the scales from the lanyard tube. There is no need to do that as the scales can just be spread a...

YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! And another run of Para 2 CF with S90v. I'd definitely be in on both of these. They just had a sprint run of the Para 2 in CTS-20CP which essentially is a clone of S90V. So another run in S90V would seem a bit redundant at this time. Some people even think that 20CP performs be...

I would think one could use the corner of a Sharpmaker rod to reach into that spot next to the tang and use the corner or the edge of the flat of the rod to "file" down the raised area so that it blends in and matches the level of the rest of the blade. Then for future sharpening, the corn...

Someone had an M390 Mule tested and reported (in the M390 Mule thread) that it was ~61 HRC which is supposed to be pretty good for a production M390 blade.

I can't say anything about Cru Ware as I've never used it, but M390 has become probably my favorite stainless steel. I really like the edge it takes and it has great edge retention.

I think using screw construction and not pinned construction, is in part intended to make a knife more easily user serviceable and for making it easier for the user to do a thorough cleaning of the internal parts, so long as the user understands that taking it apart technically voids the warranty.

There's no question that Sal and Eric hit a home run with the Para 2. As someone else already said, it's probably one of, if not, the best designed general purpose folders available at any price. And it's a bargain at ~$100.

Oh the tragedy of the P2. My only solution was to carry 2 or 3 knives since I cannot put it down. That's my solution also. I usually carry the Para 2 20CP in my RF pocket and the Caly 3.5 Super Blue in my LF pocket. Problem solved. I mainly use the Caly Super Blue for cutting food in restaurants (i...

One thing i have to say about the caly 3 cf is the 420 laminate scratches so easily. Yes. The 420 stainless steel exterior layers are very soft. The theory is that by wrapping the thin hard more brittle ZDP-189 core in soft metal, it increases overall toughness. The downside is it scratches easily ...

All of my 5 para 2's have the same very slight side to side blade play that isn't noticeable when actually using the knife to cut anything so it doesn't really bother me. But still it would be nice to eliminate it. I'll probably try to sand around the pivot hole of one of mine and if it goes well an...

Will they (Spyderco) take care of it, or will they just say the knife is "within spec" and send it back without making any modifications?

Fortunately, the VG-10 G10 Caly 3.5 is still alive and well as a regular production model (and the Super Blue sprint is still available for the time being).
