How big is this strange new knife. I may have misunderstood your description, but it sounds really unusual, even by Spyderco standards.

I have a lot of respect for what you're doing, and I'll pray that you make it back and do some good work while you're there. No one has mentioned it yet, but I'd probably also take a sharpmaker, especially for the amount of time you'll be gone. Probably also want at least two good flashlights with s...

Simona, where are those pictures of medieval weapons from? I believe I've seen that somewhere before, but I can't think of were.

I can't say enough for the Standard. It was my first Spyderco, I carried it for about 5 years, lost it, and bought another one, even though it was discontinued. I will admit it doesn't hold an edge as good as most of my newer Spydercos, but thats why everyone needs a Sharpmaker. Also, that black cli...

Kris blades look cool, but I know almost nothing about them. Now a mini Persian seems to me like a pretty good idea depending on how it's executed, and from what I've seen of Ed Schempp's work, I'm sure it will be. Will the cool new designs never end?!

As far as I know my Delica is legal in Mississippi. I have a couple of LEO friends, and I asked them once, and they didn't even know what was legal and said so long as somebody wasn't threatening people with a knife or doing something stupid they wouldn't give anyone any trouble over one of any kind...

An SS Delica is the perfect EDC to me. I've been using one for about 2 years now, and I can't think of a single bad thing to say about it. Even when it's wet, the handle shape fits my hand and negates and slipperiness. If I could only have one Spyderco of the ones I currently own, (Regrettably only ...

Sharpmaker praise

I've only had my sharpmaker a few months, and never had call to use it on anything other than my spyderco knives. Today I put my SAK on it, and since the metal is thinner than most spydercos, it made that thing sharper than a knife ought to be. It felt at least as sharp if not sharper than any strai...

I'll try and do my bit to equalize the harmonic imbalance. I'd like to be into flashlights, but spend too much money on knives, guns, books, movies, and music. Got a big maglight and a mini maglight. One of these days I'm going to get an LED or 3. I tested a jester with the little light that Bladefo...

I'll give my support for the cricket. I worked in the wood warehouse for a furniature factory and had to cut plastic banding off stacks of wood parts, and the serrated cricket eats that stuff better than anything else I've ever seen, though I do admit, it's the only thing I've ever cut much of that ...

I usually have my SAK in the bottom of my pocket and a Spyderco in the top of my pocket, usually my Delica, Native, or Persian, though if I'm wearing dress clothes where you don't want a big bulge, I'll have my Navigator or Cricket. The SAK's blade is seldom used, but at least 3-4 times a week I'll ...

I hate to be a wet blanket, but automatics aren't for me. It just seems like something else to go wrong. That's one reason I prefer the spyder hole over a stud, you can't break a hole. What I'm interested in is that new thing Eric Glesser made that looks like a cross between a Dodo and a Native. I'v...

At least they didn't say it was 2 and 3/2, which I think would make it between 3 and 4 inches.

Now I feel kind of redundant. And yes, 2 and 3/25 inch blade length is a really weird fraction. Sounds kind of like a knife an evil algebra teacher would use.

New Viele is out

I was just on New Graham's website, my personal knife supplier, and saw that the new Viele is here. Just thought I'd let you know. If I used some exclamation marks I'd sound like Naven Johnson screaming about his new phone book on The Jerk. That thing is beautiful as all get out, but I can't afford ...

I've handled a Chinook before. Does the Manix balance similarly? I know I loved the Chinook except for the blade shape. I found it hard to cut much of anything with it when I tested one in a Blade Forums passaround, though it was a combo edge and I think a plain edge would have worked better. If it ...

And now the hard question

Now that I found out the Stretch can wait, I must ask the hard question: Military, Paramilitary, or Manix? None would get that much use being as I spend about 75% of my time in an environment where my Navigator, Cricket, and Dodo rule the roost, but I want one of the big guys for a "Sh**t-hits-...

Stretch question

Is the stretch a limited run? I'm considering buying one, and New Graham has it in their "Limited edition" section. I only have enough money to buy one knife right now, and maybe one in a few months. If there's any danger of the stretch not being available next fall or so, I'll buy it now,...

I take it that MSRP of $169.00 on the Viele will equal around $90 from New Graham or somewhere equivilant. Also, am I mistaken in understanding that one side of the handle will be micarta and the other side G10? That's a pretty unique rig and I think I just may have to get one sometime this fall.
