Re: My Native 5 Maxamet
Nice job on the clip. The stock one hits too far forward and the edge of the logo tends to drag on your pocket.

Re: Eric Glesser breaks down the Para 3 LW!
Eric called the model a Para Military 3 a few times in the video. Is it not just Para 3?

Re: Native Salt owners?
I took mine apart again today and degreased the pivot bushing. It turns out what I thought was a washer of some sort was really just grease. I shot it with some silicone lubricant and reassembled. It doesn't quite feel as good as my other Natives but it is much improved. It seems there may have been...

Re: Lil' Native CompLock Pivot Screws
I usually adjust only one screw, usually starboard side as I'm right handed. However, adjusting both screws evenly would probably be more "correct."

Re: Pocket wear, Native 5 Lightweight
Thank you all. Oh yes, I plan to get a N5 Maxamet. I like the MXG clip for my Para 3, so will look into getting one for the N5???? Yes, I do sand the the G10 under the clip and could do the same for the FRN. The contct point for the clip is a smooth round Spyderco emblem, you shouldnt need to The e...

The best thing I've found for braid is the Boomerang Tools snips (not actually from the Land of Bloke, unfortunately). There are several styles, including this saltwater model:

Re: Back Lock Question Re: Disassembly
I second the Native 5, lightweight, any way. Remove 3 screws and pop off the port scale. The backspacer is built into the starboard scale, so the spring stays in place along with the lock bar and blade. There's no need for a third hand to hold the lock bar open whilst maneuvering the blade sandwich ...

Re: G10 UKPK officially makes a return! Heinnie Haynes Exclusive
The temptation was too much. One on the way. I was charged the full price of $121. Should have made a comment in the box to avoid the VAT, but didn't. You would think they would see that it is shipping to the US and not charge the Tax. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this one. How bad was shipping?

Re: Pacific Salt 2
From what I can see, people love the Pacific Salt because of the handle design. It's a throwback to their much-beloved Delica-Endura generation 3 era. They love the shape, the texture, and the clip. As the owner of the latest Spyderhawk sprint I would have to agree. For the second generation I'd rec...

Re: Native Salt owners?
The Salt, however, has a pivot that looks to be almost split with a washer in between the halves (on end). ... This leads me to believe the problem is with the pivot and not the lockbar. did you get a picture of this detail? i’m not seeing what you are referring to. if not, no worries. i’m just cur...

Re: 4 new knives all very dry.
I've noticed the most oil on models straight out of Seki. I don't recall seeing it on anything from Golden, but I'm probably wrong. Either way, I have yet to see a hint of corrosion on anything from Spyderco, even HAP40 and V-Toku.

Re: Native Salt owners?
Mine requires quite a bit of exertion to open. I loosened the pivot as I always do with little to no effect. I'm fairly sure either the radius if the tang is too large, the protrusion on the lock bar is too long, or the spring is too forceful. I suppose I can disassemble it and another Native of mi...

Re: History on the Spyderco Civilian
Has it ever been confirmed that Sal designed this knife? It may have and I just missed it. I want to say there was a post here where Sal said he designed the Civilian. It's not really a collaboration so it would probably be him or Eric. Edit: Sal did design the Civilian... https://forum.spyderco.co...

Re: History on the Spyderco Civilian
I see, thanks. I usually see who it was designed for but not who actually designed it. We’re there any spyderco at the time in the catalog that had similar designs? Are you asking specifically about the reverse-S blade? If so, I'm not sure, but the Cricket may have been around at that time (2000).

Re: History on the Spyderco Civilian
Sal designed the Civilian for use by undercover police who could not carry a firearm in certain situations.
