Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

.... I remember the first time trying to remove the lanyard tube from my PM2 back in the day. Yikes :winking-tongue . Granted it's a little easier to remove on the Manix, but I'm glad there's tools that exist now to help with the process. I'm too cheap for that though and designed my own pusher and...

I wish I could find some micarta scales for mine.
Since the lanyard tube is an integral part of handle integrity on the Manix 2, I've been reticent to do a scale swap, let alone going to a material that isn't as strong as G10...

Re: Please remove MAP pricing forever!

The poll will heavily favor removing MAP of course, but the purpose was always to help dealers improve their margins. If that wasn't the case and/or it resulted in less net profit, Spyderco would've heard the complaints and removed it already. Ultimately dealers are Spyderco's "customers"...

Re: CPM 15V Sprint sharpening and performance thread

I got the reprofile set with the F80 Venev stone on the Hapstone last night. Seems like any other steel to sharpen so far. I have an original Hapstone system (Edge Pro ripoff). My Venev bonded diamond "stones" (the black organic matrix, with <100% diamond) make short work of Maxamet and K...

Re: Stone Recs

Incase others are interested: Gritomatic/Venev bonded diamonds are excellent as well. I have the early release black resin versions (lower diamond to resin ratio), and despite being the "low performance" option, I have no issues with cutting performance or wear. The 1200 and 2000 (FEPA) wi...

Back at Sooner State knives... Towards the bottom of this page... yes i agree and have asked that question several times. why maxamet over cruwear. just wish i could get a para 3 in cruwear now without paying scalpers, or lil native or para 3 lw Knifecenter still has stock of their CruWear/smooth G10 Lil' Native exclusive and at $126, it's actually cheaper than t...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

My surrogate purchase (since I gave up on this Sprint) was a Lil' Native smooth G10/CruWear from KC.
I'd been thinking I wanted to try one, but the upgraded blade steel and lower price finally pushed me over the edge.

it might even arrive for Christmas!?!

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Looks like this knife is a real sales juggernaut! Unless one falls in my lap, I'm tapping out as of now. I legit have way too many knives already and they all cut things quite nicely (got rid of the clunkers ages ago), so as much as the novelty of a finely tuned HT in a super-high wear steel appeals...

Re: High Performance Delica Excitement

Hi Awa, Funny you would bring that up. It was yesterday that we contacted the maker on the model. It's not a matter of "how long the model takes". The maker is also very busy and running at capacity. Mostly making existing models that are also growing in demand. So we're constantly adjust...

Re: High Performance Delica Excitement

Unless there have been Sal bombshells dropped elsewhere regarding the HP Delica, it sure looks like the project has been shelved, or at the least put deeply in to back burner territory. This makes me sad, since a Delica sized Spyderco with a blade grind akin to the GB1 would be a glorious thing! Fin...

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?

I haven't read the entire thread, so I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I'd like to see a Native 5 Salt in linerless G10. I MUCH prefer the N5 in G10 over the LWT version. I say this, even though I'm off of buying any new knives indefinitely. 🤪 Maybe if there comes a time in the f...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

https://youtu.be/fakP3h8FbHE ... In the test I'm cutting into hard african blackwood with a side load and scraping cuts, this is clear misuse of a knife edge and not what it's intended for. The 15V it's not the toughest steel but it does have enough strength to hold up to some misuse within reason....
